Well, his latest film is a stinking turd, so I guess poor boy needs attention. I'm proud to say I've seen only one of his films. And it was God-awful, as I'm sure the rest of them are.

Mike Signorile was talking about this on xm just a minute ago. He said that the Academy is not particularly happy with Ratner, not just for this, but for his recent comments about Olivia Munn, and some other stuff he said during a Howard Stern interview this week. I don't really know how big of a deal I think it should all be, but I'm enjoying following the story.

He's a pig and he's proud of being a pig. He's rolling in dough and doesn't care. The only news would be if Hollywood actually said or did anything about it. I'm not holding my breath.

The Hollywood Reporter is says he's out as Oscar producer. He resigned. It wasn't just this. Quite a few piggish moves from him lately.

Somebody mentioned an interview he did in The Advocate when questioned about jokes in Rush Hour 3 taken at the expense of gay people. Instead of saying, 'Well, I have gay friends...' he has a pretty interesting personal story.

I can accept terrible directors doing the Oscars but even terrible ones have an ounce of humanity. Ratner is a total manchild.
Totally, okay to make gay jokes. In fact, my first BJ....

I blame the Academy leaders for choosing him in the first place. They've changed regimes in the last couple of years, and for the worse, if you ask me.

They're really whoring up the place. Stop trying to make the Oscars "sexy," especially when you have no clue as to what that is or how to do it.

He wrote an open letter apologizing. It's very well worded and sounds sincere but you have to wonder if he actually wrote or if it was written by his publicist.
