Homophobic

Sorry CM2, I went to post before the choral fest began. Didn't mean to interrupt before.
I wrote a term paper on phobias last year, and the behaviors that are being identified with homophobia are not actual symptoms of a phobia.
A phobia is a persistent, excessive fear of the presence or anticipation of an object or situation. The stimulus provokes an immediate anxiety response, usually a panic attack. The avoidance and distress in anticipation of the stimulus interferes with the individual's normal routine and daily functioning.
The common meaning of homophobia is definitely a social disease and can be called a sociopathic disorder, but it is not a phobia.
Sorry, but the misuse of the names of psychological conditions is one of my pet peeves. Don't get me started on "antisocial".

Speaking of homophobes...
Anyone ever been to a gay-camp? Where they turn little boys and girls into morally-reformed heterosexuals?
I know I haven't, but I'd LOVE to work for one! Can I list some of you guys as references?

MAtthew,
I know you're kidding. I pray you are. My college roommate (ah, to be back in college, in the closet, and in love with your hot, also-closeted roommate) was put in one a few years ago. It's horrible. His family has also secreted him away from all of his old friends who nurtured this evilness inside him.

Posted: 6/9/05 at 8:07pmAh, yes, those amazing people who magically change from gay to straight. I believe they're called "bisexual", or "in denial". Or they were never actually gay to begin with. Please, you can't leave homosexuality.

Bwaysinger...
Why do you think I'm ON this board? I'm not GAY! Yuck! I'm straight! I just want to spread the word about change.
If you can change your address, you can change your sexuality! That's what the advertisement says, so it MUST be true!
If it's that easy...easy as changing your shirt...then- I'm in! Who's with me?

And I'd like to know...
Does the eyebrow ring COME with your change or do you get that separately?
