I saw it at the London Film Festival and she was there with Tom Wilkinson to introduce it, but no Sissy. And I saw Requiem that same year, Ellen Burstyn introduced the film and I wanted her to adopt me.

I adore Burstyn; she's an amazing actress. And I think she's going to be in Aranofsky's next movie, too. We shall see.
Yes, Plum, she apparently is going to be in Darren Aronofsky's next feature. Good for her. And she richly deserved the Oscar nomination for her turn in Requiem.
And I meant HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG and IN THE BEDROOM.
Ooops. Silly me.
When Ben Kingsley ran through the hospital, arms flailing, screaming "where's my son, my son?!" , i shivered.
Why aren't you giving my daughter her medicine!?!?!
The crying in the car at the gun's emptiness...
Amazing....
Brilliant...
and REQUIEM is brilliant.
Absolutely brilliant.

Hey Matt_G, What has Marisa Tomei done to upset you?

Someone told me that the cinematography for this movie was up there with Far From Heaven...maybe even better. Of course I was like "yeah, right." But then I saw this movie, and wow. Roger Deakens did a wonderful job shooting this film. It is so breathtakingly beautiful.
I thought all of the nominees for Best Supporting Actress that year were so much better than Renee Zellweger in Cold Mountain. I'm usually a big fan of Zellweger's work, but I thought she was horrible in Cold Mountain (I thought the whole film was bad, though). I would have given the Oscar to Patricia Clarkson in "Pieces of April" with Holly Hunter in "Thirteen" second. Shoreh would have been my third choice.
