My parents, friends, and I still play Sorry as well as other board games. We love it! I also loved Spirograph, but even better was their other creation, Spectograph. Did anyone else ever have this? It was pretty rare and hard to find. Plotting the designs was a little more complicated, but the results were beautiful. I also loved my Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs and Legos, but my all-time favorite toy was Micronauts. What I wouldn't give to have those again even now.

Nice, boobs.
Lincoln logs....oh sweet bliss. They were the next step up from the huge red cardboard bricks. Great for forts, those were.
Mister Matt..maybe this could help you get them...

Ah, yes the men's undies. No wonder I am who I am. Boobs, you got games and toys from S&H Green Stamps? Lucky. My parents STILL have a "painting" and some Colonial Militia Men that my Mom got with Green Stamps. And, my Mother's GOOD china was bought with premiums at the grocery store and is still only hauled out for special occasions. Updated On: 1/25/05 at 01:25 PM
SOMMS I think our china came from the Exxon station....after you put a tiger in your tank you got free china...ah to have those days back.
Lincoln logs were created by John Wright...Frank Lloyd Wright's son...I know you all wanted to know that.
Who had Flintstones glasses?
Didn't jelly come in those glasses Rath?
Yes! And then you washed them out and used them to drink out of. Good times.
We had a whole collection..I'm sure my sister still has some being she took everything from Grandma's house...Grandma NEVER threw anything out.
Hey - remember Maureen McGovern, queen of the disaster movie theme songs?! She was aces even then!
HAD??? I still do. I drink my juice from them everymorning. I've also got the Road Runner/Wylie Coyote. I used to make Lincoln Log and Lego building to place along my Matchbox's tracks (orange--my favorite color). I also had a train set and a slot car set on a huge platform in the basement. We had a ping pong table and pool table too. Basement time was GRAND!
I still have the 45 of "The Morning After" ...I love listening to it with all the scratches...those are memories too of playing it over and over.
Did anyone else have the ZOOM catalogue??? I think that's what it was called...Think I'll check Ebay.
That was a great singalong song, as was anything she sang. Freakin' genius of a vocalist, that one. Hot, too...
SOMMS..I remember going to my best friend who lived next door to me and he had a train set on a piece of ply wood that he kept under his bed and we would play with them for hours.
I've still got my original records and albums and play them from time to time. I loved Shelley Winters in the Poisedon (sp) Adventure. Mo McGovern was the queen of disaster movie theme songs, and yes Rath, a hottie even to this queer boy.
Bongo maybe that was a midwestern thing..I never heard of it.
SOMMS...we need to get together and pull out all the old 45's and albums !!!
Can we do each other's hair and nails, too. Oops, well, you can do my hair and I'll paint your nails Jungle Red.
I'd just like to point out that although I was born in 1986, my parents were very cool people. I've never owned a video game, and I grew up playing Sorry and Life and Trouble. My parents knew me well---they'd actually give me a big stick and say "Have fun, be in by dark." We have a big backyard, so my friends and I would play in the trees, or something.
Not everyone young grew up addicted to TV!
Good for you Lael! Of course, your parents are "our" age and probably wanted to let you share in the joy of their childhood.
I LOVE that color SOMMS..Jungle Red...we can watch that movie too while we're at it ... I Love 'The Women" !!!
Lakes you're very lucky to have parents like that..that showed you how to have fun without plugging something in.
SOMMS, I never liked the young girls too much, so while I knew Mo was one helluva singer, I didn't know how hot she was until recently. Although, back then, I didn't know I found girls hot.
Now Rath will like to play Twister with Mo...alone !!!
Damn right, Boobsie boy!!!
I love that we're calling her "Mo" by the way...
Yes, I had most kick-ass parents. My mom has a deep fear of technology, and my dad grew up in a fishing village in Michigan. Then they moved to California, and put me in the backyard. I was only in the house to eat and sleep, mostly...
