ooh ooh lucky you!! have fun. I am hosting a Needleworkers Guild meeting.
Hmm... me being the curious cat that sticks his head everywhere wonders... ok, I'll admit I googled it 'cause I've never heard about it, and all the responses said it has something to do with medieval crafts? Is that correct? How interesting...
Yep. I am guild mistress of my local SCA group (A medieval recreation society) I am into blackwork.

Morning, all. Just posted my FIDDLER review over on that other board.
good morning friends!
hope everyone's day is off to a good start!
Happy Saturday everyone. I went to an absolutely beautiful concert last night at Ramapo College. I may be a wee bit biased since I'm very close with one of the students, so keep that in mind if I gush a little. The school has a group of 12 called the Street Singers. Criteria is not only students with exceptional singing skill, but they also must act well. The creator of the group and Assistant Professor of Music, Barbara Gordon, describes them: "They must be able to sing in a wide range, possess stage presence, and be able to interpret the songs sensitively and appropriately." This was their 5th annual music revue. According to the program, in the past they've paid tribute to George Gershwin, Stephen Sondheim, Richard Rogers and Cole Porter. This year was a celebration of Harold Arlen's 100th birthday. There were two acts which started and ended with the entire company on stage. The show began with the 4 men looking very dapper in their tuxes and the 8 ladies wearing very lovely gowns. The men each had a boutonniere since Harold Arlen always wore a fresh flower in his lapel. Each student had at least one solo, with a duet in each act. The concert consisted of 29 songs. Some of the songs sung were, Get Happy, The Man That Got Away, Accentuate The Positive, That Old Black Magic, Come Rain Or Come Shine, If I Only Had A Brain, It's Only A Paper Moon, Stormy Weather and Over The Rainbow, which was the finale and brought the audience to its' feet and tears to my eyes. There was so much talent up on that stage last night, and I'm so glad I got to see and hear it!

Happy weekend all! I get to have my hair done today the shoe shopping (oh the joy!)
Thanks, Mom. Bdwaygirl, that concert sounds great. A buddy of mine went to Ramapo.
Bongo, you're here! My Ramapo friend is a sophomore and loves it. They're doing Cabaret in the Spring and he's playing Bobby. Can't wait to see it. Just wish it wasn't such a hike up to the school. Though, it's probably a good thing, cause I'd most likely be up there more, since he hardly ever comes home anymore! I'm sure he's glad he's a little bit away from us all!
The show really was fantastic. My boy did a duet in the first act, Life's Full Of Consequence and in the second act, he did It's Only A Paper Moon. Beautiful. For the Over The Rainbow finale, he was right in front of us, and as he was singing, did his little eyebrow thing to acknowledge us. Miss hanging out with him.

Might want to have a heating pad handy for him just in case he decides to be daring and give it a try! Sounds like the boys will be a tad tired later. Maybe have some aspirin at the ready, too. I'm getting a headache just thinking of the noise level of that place.

Hey Girly !!! Thanks for the coffee.
I did NOT go on a skateboard yesterday....the kids had fun though. I did get a warm feeling when someone gave my nephew for his Birthday "Operation"...I so wanted to rip the plastic off and play.
