No - but her tours are meant to be quite moving.

A friend of mine is on the World Monuments Fund Board, and he organizes travel for us. I don't travel with them as frequently as I'd like (minor detail: I have to work for a living...), but I try to join whenever I can. An interesting, accomplished group of people.

Your cruise of Russia and the Baltics sounds so cool.

I actually have had dinner with Suzanne Massie and I brought her to our Diaghilev program at Kennedy Center about three years ago. She had never seen Nijinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps until then. It was fun spending time with her.

Glebb - I'm sorry - I missed your earlier post.

I'm sure she must have enjoyed your program. I was given her book 'Pavlovsk: The Life of a Russian Palace' by my friend who organized the trip. Wonderful reading.

Edit - wanted to add - lucky you being able to meet her!

Wonderful book and gorgeous palace that happens to be one of the finest restoration jobs in Europe. LAND OF THE FIREBIRD also by Massie is wonderful too. :)

His story is truly amazing. My friend, Mark, who is an Episcopal priest knows him... fascinating journey.

Ok brace yourself for this.

Bobbie Massie is the Hemophiliac son of Robert and Suzanne Massie. He is the reason that the book NICHOLAS AND ALEXANDRA was written. His parents decided to study one of the most famous hemophiliacs of all time -- the last Tsarevitch of Russia -- to better understand their problems.

Bobbie is still alive and living with HIV he acquired from a blood transfusion.
