SNAFU, I was refraining from posting on here about it, but after reading your post it put me over the edge because I am wanting to puke at the "Oh poor me, my mommy and daddy pay for stuff" post. My husband and I put ourselves through college with student loans, part time jobs, and regrettably credit cards. We are now out of college and are trying to get out of the debt that we are in because we had to do it on our own. I would have LOVED for some help. Don't knock how helpful parents can be. There is trying to become more self reliant and then there is being an idiot.
Try to cut back on taking help as much and get a job to help earn some of your own money so that when you are out of college you are looking at a mountain of debt. Oh yeah...try being grateful as well.

You WOULD ask this question.
Once they stop paying for things, you're going to want their money again. Honestly? For now, accept it and start saving. And stop whining.

Posted: 9/17/08 at 4:06pmIf I were you, as long as your parents have the financial means of sending you the money, then keep taking it. However, get a job as well. Use the money that your parents are sending you and save it up. Once you have your first real job, you may still be living from paycheck to paycheck. It will be nice to have a little something tucked away.
