how will you spend your tax credit?

Where in the hell is this money coming from, considering the country is broke?

Bush is just going to screw as much of this country up before he gets out of office as possible.

IF I ever see a refund check...

It will help with moving expenses. I'll be moving in July or early August.

My guess is I won't get one as I will be going into my last semester of college, and my parents will still be able to claim me as a dependent.

Well, IF it does come, I'll just consider it my refund that they owe me after attaching my wages many years ago and taking twice as much as they were supposed to, and then LAUGHING at me over the phone when I asked when I was going to get my money back.

What goes around...

I remember back in 2001 when we all got a tax rebate check, I didn't cash it. I mailed it back to the US Government.

I would feel very selfish to accept this money when there are millions of people in the world who clearly need it more than I do.

So, when my check comes, I'll send it back.

Re the Country Being Broke

Unlike the Federal government, the state of NY cannot print money. This is not stopping Mr Spitzer from spending more & more with deficits in the years ahead as far as you can see. The budget will be much higher as the porkers from both parties will be adding on still more. Governors in surrounding states see a recession & are pulling in the reins of spending. Ex steamroller Spitzer is oblivious & spends like a drunken sailor.

He is doing it with smoke & mirrors. One little gem he wants to partially pay for his nonsense is to charge deposits for bottles of water & sports drinks.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Oz.

Let's see, Bush wants us to spend it and help the economy, right? I'll apply it to the European vacation I'm planning to celebrate my retirement.

I understand what's happening to the Euro. Still, this is how I want to celebrate surviving 36 long and joyless years in the classroom.

I still fail to see how this helps the US economy and the deficit, etc. Still if I do get the $600 dollars, it will be a nice little help to pay some rent with, it might pay 1/2 of it. But as Christmas Eve would say in Avenue Q "Every little bit help!"

I'd rather GWB gave us all a car, like Oprah.

I feel sorry for your students if all of your years in the classroom were joyless.

What a waste of time for THEM.

More qualifiers. Okay, so now it's actually a tiered "refund."

If you make above a certain amount, you only get a partial refund. And for every thousand dollars income above that amount, you lose another $30 of the refund. Once you hit $95K annual income, you get nothing.

The whole thing sounds wacky. Tomorrow it will only be people who's last names are S-Z.
