Funny when he's talking intellegently about thinkgs that matter.
Not funny when he's talking to strippers and porn stars.

Posted: 8/19/04 at 11:34pmI am an ex listener of Howard Stern. His show was so funny at one time. He was married then, and his mother and father were big contributors of humor to the show. He had many skits and regular guests and the show was hilarious. Now I feel he just panders to horny young guys. He's not funny anymore.

I'm a long time Howard Stern fan. In 7th grade there was a big project where we had to read an autobiography and prepare and perform a 10-minute speech as that person, in costume and character. So I chose Private Parts, read it, and was in love.
His filthiness and sexual humor were exactly what the future Broadway Matt needed to get him through his awkward horny young guy phase. Now older, I still love his show in the morning but more for the intelligent conversations and interviews than for the same old fart and stripper activities. Parts of his shtick are pretty stale by now but he remains an articulate, enlightening personality. Also, there are few interviewers out there better than Stern.

I have been a longtime fan of his show, when it's intelligent and clever, but ever since his divorce it's gone downhill, I can't listen when he goes on about having dinner at Citrus with his 25 year old girlfriend any longer...ugh.
Truth be told the show "ended" for me when the amazing Billy West left years ago.......

I'll admit it, I listen to the show as much as I can.
A friend of mine is one of the key players. (Well actually he's my nemesis... but the nemesis within my group of friends)
I don't really like the current political streak, with all of the W. bashing... But it's his right, as JRB astutely points out.
Much of the show makes me cringe, but it still provides me some of the few LOL's of the morning.

Posted: 8/20/04 at 10:24amThe humor ended with his marriage. He phones the show in now.

Not funny.
Not clever.
(jrb - I support his right to be on the air, too - but that's a whole different subject.)
