just got back from work. terrible night.



we found out today that media play is closing all of their stores. we have 60 of them across the country, and out store has always been #1... we make the most, sell the most, and have the largest selection. so we didn't see this coming at all. the other stores are not doing well at all, so we have to suffer because of this. we'll be closing at the end of january, which means i'll be jobless.


it sucks. no one is going to be hiring at this time. they're going to be letting go of their seasonal employment... why would they take us? all i can rely on now is getting called to sub if i can't hold onto the position i have. this sucks majorly. while i wasn't making TONS of money there, it was still helping. i really want to move to the city during the summer and this is only another obstacle getting in my way.


and yeah, i'm going to sound snobbish and picky here, but i'm NOT going back into the food service. 4 years of that is long enough!

Aww Zeppie, I shouldn't say this b/c it annoys the crap outta me when my mom says it but hopefully you're mom doesn't say it 3 times every day.

You won't see it now, but everything happens for a reason. Who knows maybe something better will come along that you wouldn't be able to do if you were still working there

Hehe, it was cool getting killed by the chandelier. It seems to move a little faster when it's on top of you, but that aside, you notice a lot more on the stage...the smoke came into me but I could smell the lake and fires and lots of stuff, I thought that was really cool. You could see most of the things are on wheels and the stage opening up but still I was just dazzled by everything that happened on that stage, especially since I still couldn't say from where I was sitting that obviously it was done this way. But I just felt like...in the show...I mean Howard did have the mask on so I was able to transform him into Gerry in my mind esp. during Music of the night...the theatre was freezing making me jump giving me chills, making it worse. Gah. I gotta watch the movie.

Oh for anyone interested, I think Hugh is slightly better as the Phantom, though I enjoyed Howard a lot..his voice got much more powerful as the show went on and I really felt his pain when he cried but that also could have been b/c I was soo close.

But you know I love you Zeppie. Give me a time you're coming back here and I'll work on getting you a front row seat too.

it was weird at work today... didn't hit till all of the PLUs came down that say the monthly sales. everything goes on sale starting tomorrow. wow.

No way...MediaPlay is closing all of their stores. I always shop at Media Play (up near the Boulevard Mall.) What's the deal.

I am so sorry to hear this for your sake, all the other employees. My brother just found out that his plant in West Seneca is closing in 4 months--jobs are going to a plant in Mexico...

yeah, my store (hamburg) has always done amazing, and we WERE #1 among all of them nationwide. look at us alone and you'd have no idea. that's why it was such a shock. customers were not happy at all. with media play closing, we don't have much down here in the southtowns where you can easily find all of the stuff we sell in 1 place. you'd have to travel around to different stores. it just sucks!

didn't see my thread was bumped before... wurd


bumpin again to share the update...


so i get kicked out of my teaching placement soon. no, that teacher is not back from the service. a teacher from the 7th grade is being bumped up to my spot. she has experience in 8th grade, which they want because of the big 8th grade social studies exam at the end of the year. so she's moving up and starting right after christmas break and that's her permanent spot. when he comes back from Iraq, that teacher will take her spot in 7th grade, but until then, they need someone. so tomorrow morning during 1st period when i don't have any classes, i will have an interview for that position. if i am a "finalist," on monday i will have to teach a lesson to the 7th graders and get observed. if i get that position, i'll start on tuesday by observing the teaching moving up so i can slide right in after break. if i DO get that position, they're gonna have a sub in for me (hahaha a sub for a sub) who will overlook what i have planned for the 8th graders.


i'll miss them though... mostly. today i screamed at a class. we were doing a review game for a quiz i'm giving them tomorrow. i was pissed cuz they weren't cooperating, were shouting... basically being disrespectful. i had a deck of cards in my hands (as a way to divide up the teams) and i slammed them down on the overhead and told them they weren't playing. they'd have to sit in silence reviewing on their own until the end of the period. of course none of them listened to me. i can't wait to continue that tomorrow

haha yeah, should be interesting to see what happens with this weather. if it IS a snow/ice day, everything would be pushed back a day, which means i'll only be able to observe for 2 days instead of 3. i could SO jump in and take over off of no days... not like i know from experience what that's like...
