I've been in Chicago twice, and neither time did I know the dance I was supposed to be dancing.

I have those dreams a lot where they just throw me on stage in a show I've never been in and have no clue what the dialogue is. I also used to have a reoccuring dream that I was back in Into the Woods but we didn't rehearse and are just supposed to remember everything. Greens? Beans? I couldn't keep it straight when I HAD rehearsed!
There's been instances with me where I've had dreams about shows I was going to see. Most recent I remember...The Producers:
I walk in supposedly late, next thing I know I am on stage facing Matthew Broderick. I can't explain it, but nothing looked like the Producers, but you knew it was supposed to be the Producers. There were no costumes or anything, just normal clothes, but for some reason "my dream" thought of it as the Producers. Does anyone know what I mean, lol, because it's confusing.
I have had many dreams about being thrown into a dance recital and not knowing any of the dances. It was never a musical, always either a dance recital or a cabaret type show.

The WEIRDEST stage dream I have had was playing Toto (I was a REAL dog, not an actor...I have NO idea why) In a production of the Wizard of Oz where Dorothy was played by Jessica Grove and Jenna Leigh Green.

Dreamed I was in Les Miz. I was Fantine, yet my solo was "Memory". It was people in Les Miz costumes singing songs from CATS. Ha! I beat you all on the scary factor.

How's this for a scary factor--I dreamed a few weeks ago I was in WICKED! No joke, I really did.
I had a RENT dream before. I was Mrs. Cohen and others...but the show was COMPLETELY different! I know it was RENT because of the characters, but the story was, um, warped. Maureen killed Angel with a lunchbox, and the audience was full of pre-schoolers, and the theatre was circluar...It was so strange.
i haven't dreamed about being in any shows..but i have dreamed about going to see wicked about 5 times and always something happens to where i can't get to the show.
I had a dream where I was hanging around with "Sutton Foster." The person looked nothing like Sutton, but it was supposed to be her. Weird how dreams can do that.

Diva, that is one of the wierdest things I've ever heard.
I dreamt I was in a ballet version of RENT once...I was Mimi, and I didn't know my choreography or where the wings/entrances were or which costume to wear, so I kept randomly leaping across the stage hoping it the audience wouldn't notice...quite odd.
I once had a dream that i was in a show that was a hybred of chicago and caberet. At first i was the guy who says "5,6,7,8" in the beginning of chicago. After that one line, i had to wait backstage for the rest of the show until i had a conversation with alan cummings. Then i was pushed out on stage as the emceee in caberet. Oh how i love dreams like that.
Diva, that Maureen/Angel dream is the best thing I've heard all day!
Ive had a dream where Rent Wicked and Aida were all sort of combined... sometimes I was singing, other times I was in the audience. It was so strange. like idina was Elphie, but singing 'Over the Moon'. I didnt recognize who was Mimi, but she suddenly started singin 'My Strongest Suit'. In one part, I was dressed up as Glinda but singing as one of the homeless people. Which is odd, because I have absolutely no desire to ever play Glinda, and dont have the range even if I did want to. Then later Adam Pascal comes out in his Radames costume and sings 'Glory'. All at the same time I was also in the audience watching. I remember being totaly confused because the songs didnt go together at all, and there was a pyramid in the middle of NYC. Maybe I was listening to just a little bit too much broadway before I went to sleep...
I had a dream I was in YAGMCB. It was very strange. I was Lucy but dressed up in ducky pajameas. And Gavin Creel was Charlie Brown.
Just last week, I dreamed I was Hedwig in the show, but I kept forgetting the words so I started singing the words from RENT to the tune of the songs from HEDWIG, and for some odd reason they fit perfectly and the audience went crazy
Hah,
I have dreamed about being Mark a few times now. Hah...so i'm not lying when I say it is one of my "dream roles".

Definitly done the "in a show dream" Couple of times as Sweeney Todd and a couple as Seymore in LSOH. The LSOH dreams make sense as I've done the show and the role, sweeney is a dream role so it makes sense it happened in a dream. In both though it's always been a situation where I was under rehearsed and didn't know my lines or lyrics. I always seem to come out ok though. I won't even get into the Hamlet nightmare, I don't think I have the space. But, question for the other actors on here. Is it just me or do most show dreams revolve around not knowing the part as well as you should? Must be our bruised egos or sense of self worth....

Beaverhausen.........Dreamt is not a word.
I had a similar dream to this last night except mine was Ragtime and I was Coalhouse. It was the part where Fire Chief Conklin yells out "it's just a conspiracy of n***** lovers, that's all it is!" and I gave the line "excuse me, I'M WHITE!!" Talk about odd....Jesus, let's hope that doesn't mean anything significant.
actually yenta, dreamt is a word
v. dreamed, or dreamt (drmt) dream·ing, dreams
v. intr.
To experience a dream in sleep: dreamed of meeting an old friend.
To daydream.
To have a deep aspiration: dreaming of a world at peace.
