So my glasses snapped in half this morning! Ahhhhhhhh! So I have to wear my big old thick back up pair of glasses. I hate being blind as a bat.

Any other blindies out there?

Yesterday, while driving, I rubbed my eye and knocked out a contact lense, so I drove the rest of the way home with one eye closed. That was interesting.

I got all of you

I have adies pupil due to a injury to my head during a fall about 20 years ago. My pupils are frozen so I have an aversion to bright lights (traffic lights, flashing lights on cop cars etc). I need Stevie Wonder sunglasses as progressives do not work on me. Other than that, with glasses, my vision is Ok

Another reason why I am so chipper about being me

I just hate my backup pair because the lenses are so ****ing thick. It gives me good insight into how petty people are towards appearances.

Shameless - I did the same thing about a week ago. I'm driving along and my eyes must have been dry. I blinked, and - *pop* contact lens comes right out and lands on my cheek. I had to pull over to get it under control! Thank goodness I wear dailies. If one gets lost, just grab a new one!

Peach, I wear Acuvue disposables and once I made it into my driveway, I was fine, but getting there was a bit of an adventure. re: I Hate Being Blind!

Well, maybe when Sr. Mary Myopia retires, you can take over as spotlight operator and archery instructor in "Nunsense."

I actually went through years of thinking I had normal vision (ha!), and thought that EVERYONE sitting in any row but the first couldn't see the black board. Then I got my contacts and let me tell you, being able to REALLY see in NYC for the first time at 13 years old was crazy. I was like holy sh*t I can read EVERYTHING! Haha, good times...

Miss Blind Texas? Is that you?

If not, someone may want to rethink the title of this thread.

I remember that feeling. I was 16 when I started wearing contacts and it was so weird to be able to see individual leaves on trees from more than a couple feet away. I had no idea how much detail I was missing.

A few months ago I was at my friend's house in NYC and I slept over. I put my glasses on her nightstand and needness to say, in the morning, they were in pieces and they lenses were chewed...yes, chewed! (her doggy is a puppy)

I had to go to Penn Station and find my train basically without eyesight.

Not fun- especially asking a security person where NJ transit was and he pointed about 1 foot away. haha

Due to some tumors at birth, I am also a blindy! And a cyclops blindy at that! Legally blind in one eye and just a little crappy in the other. I actually have two pairs of glasses, in case I'm ever in BobbyBubby's spot, as well as prescription sunglasses.

I am totally blind in one eye and legally blind in the other. I take the word "blind" seriously.

Sorry, Bobby...didnt mean to harp. Thanks for the change. Guess I thought it seemed insensitive (not usually a problem for me) and I was really just kiddin'.

The new title suggests Reese Whitherspoon and I am not over Felicity losing the oscar re: I Hate Being Blind!
