I put my hat on with my hair still wet before heading off to work. My head started feeling weird on the subway. I got to work and looked in the mirror. My hair is spiking in 76 different directions.

I had serious hat hair yesterday.
Especially after I dumped snow all over myself when I put my hood back on after making snow angels. Oops...

Posted: 2/13/06 at 2:53pmI have often wondered how my coworkers can all wear hats in the morning and look perfectly normal the rest of the day. I figured it was a Yankee thing that eludes those of us originally from the South. I can't wear a hat for two seconds without looking like I just rolled out of bed when I remove it. And it is totally unfixable unless I completely wash my hair again. How do people do it? Is there a magic hat dance?

Matt, that is exactly my situation! So now I'm only wearing a hat if it's absolutely necessary.

That's when you wash your hair and it's still damp just as you set out on a 6 hour drive to Virginia on a nice summer day, so you have the driver's side window open. I'd just gotten a short hair cut, too. I had hair standing up on one side of my head by the time I got there.
