Why oh why oh why must people continue to bring up peoples' weight in an attempt to feel superior/exercise their pity? I'm talking about when one walks down a hallway, and various people tap you on the stomach. When children point and laugh at you saying "FAT! FAT!". When you talk to somebody about a given subject, and they interrupt you saying "Whoa whoa whoa! Dude! Look at your stomach, man! (jiggles said stomach) You gotta work on that!" when that subject was on being discussed and when you are in front of other people. And people wonder why I have such low self-esteem.

Cruel, the only thing I can say is just take it with a grain of salt. You are special just the way you are. You are unique, and that makes you beautiful. The best revenge is to live well. Accept who you are and be proud of it, no one can be you better than you can. And that really is something. Instead of focusing on what you don't like about yourself, focus on what you do like about yourself.
ETA: And don't let other people's ignorance and immaturity effect the great person you are. It is their loss.

I have a thyroid condition. It is not an obsession and I did not ask for an under active thyroid.
Many of us have it and don't realize it. I am glad that
I went to a nutritionist who found out and sent me to a doctor.
So far, thanks to Living Proof, I am down 11 pounds. 
PS People should find out if they have this condition. I might have had it for years. It is nothing to be embarrassed about.
You might have it, check it out.

I will lose the additional 30 and I will be stunning.
People don't ask to have weight issues. How can people be so heartless?

Actually, most insurance plans today won't pay for a thyroid test until a person reaches "a certain age."
My question about the thread title is that it's vastly meaner than the things mentioned in the first post. I mean, it's all rude. But did somebody actually say "I hate you because you're fat" or is that another one of Sandich's provacative thread titles?

That is such a shame. If I knew I had this years ago, I could have been healthier and happier. Something needs to be done about thyroid issues.
I spend a lot of time helping cancer, heart disease and AIDS.
Someone needs to talk about THYROID issues. I had no idea until it happened to me.

Forgive me for my bluntness Corine, but maybe you need to expand your horizons and learn about all sorts of other things. You obviously have a computer and it's pretty easy to do research. I recall mentioning thyroid as a possibility a long long time ago as you were lamenting in a thread about your weight.
Maybe the best thing to do is to work for insurance industry reform so that people can get tested for all sorts of things that may be wrong with them. Except, it probably won't happen. But you can try, it can give you a purpose, and maybe it will help poor Cruel Sandwich with his belly. Maybe he's hyphothyroid too.
