"Dimples" from Little Me by Cy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh; RCA Victor 1962. Listen to the cast recording with Virginia Martin in the role. Its a good album all the way through and definitely worth owning. Not the circa 1999 revival/revisal album.
"Dimples" is the 'heroine's' not-very-good nightclub number and is very short and can be camped up within an inch of its life. Actually it won't work at all if done straight. There is a second verse sung by her "Police Escort" consisting of about 4 men, but it is probably adaptable for the solo performer.
"If my life weren't funny, it would just be true. And that would be unacceptable."
