Marrying into that family, the toaster from the Obamas is the least of her concerns.

Cute subject line (though it's his father who's the Prince of Wales).
But way to snatch idiocy from the mouth of coherence there at the end!

And I was thisclose to being royalty. Damn.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Well, there's often a second chance with this family.

Just call me Camilla.
(Although I guess she was really the first.)

Yeah, but second-chancers don't get to be queen...it's sort of a First Wives Club thing.

Weren't the other wives of Henry VIII styled as Queen? Or is that because he was a jerkass who did whatever he wanted whenever he wanted?

So when Charles married Camilla, he agreed to give up being King right? So it will go straight from Liz to Wills?

Presumably yes. But that's still not whom she's marrying.
But as I said, it was a cute subject line.
I wonder if he'll get a new title when he marries.

No, Stock: Charles is still the heir apparent. (My "presumably" response was to goth.)

Oh, but Camilla won't be called Queen because she's divorced? I'm confuddled. I would prefer it just to go straight to William but I get no say obviously.

Assuming Charles accedes to the throne, she will be known as HRH The Princess Consort.

Although would Diana have been Queen Diana anyway? Prince Philip is just that.

It was reported in the news a few years ago that Elizabeth began to "school" William in the affairs of state. She knows that something must be done so that Charles will never become king. The inbreeding of royalty has shown up in the insanity of Charles. I think when Diana died, the Queen was hoping that Charles would abdicate. Now she can only hope that she'll outlive him.

Yes, if they hadn't divorced. But not after that.

"Although would Diana have been Queen Diana anyway?"
Diana would have been Queen when Elizabeth died, had they not divorced. When they divorced, she was retitled.
If everything remains the same, Kate will one day be titled Queen.

"The insanity of Charles"?
Goth, do you have any sources for all these statements? I think the last few decades have proven Charles to be not only intelligent but in the vanguard of a lot of environtmental issues, to take one example.
Or is that what you mean by insanity?

I was hoping he would choose someone with a more contemporary name. It would have been fun if England one day had a Queen Brandy, Queen Madison or Queen Sh'Oquisha.

Latifah would have been simplest. She could have kept her stationery and luggage tags.

Talk about a marriage of convenience!
By the way reg, I've a feeling you presented Goth with a poor example. Don't Republicans generally consider environmental issues to be insanity?
