"When asked why the palace has decided to have a Facebook page, HRH explained "It all goes back to President Obama; he gave me one of those I-Pod devices and while I was initially skeptical, I've grown to love it. I listen to it as I walk the Corgis- it helps me relax, to tune out the affairs of state for a bit. So when the secretary suggested we begin a Facebook, I was reluctant until he reminded me that one mustn't fear technology. So we decided to give it a try. All because of that thoughtful gift.""

Immaterial even if they did play.

Oh, and the Obama girls received Top Shop dresses

"When asked about the DVDs, Brown reported "Oh I love 'em! The President and I had talked about our love of film and I'd bemoaned the fact that so many of the great ones never got a UK run, so he was kind enough to bring by some DVDs. The cabinet complained I got nothing done for a week 'coz I kept nipping round to watch "Sunset Boulevard" or "The Searchers." Downing street has a cracking 'media room' but I never had spent much time there. Now I finally have something to watch! Every time I watch one, I'd ring Obama up and tell him "Saw another great one!" And he'd mutter "I was in a conference" or "I had to meet with congress!" We get on like bangers and mash, we do! I feel bad I only gave him a pen! Not nearly as naff as these DVDs!"

"The Prime Minister has not had the best of luck when receiving gifts from U.S. presidents. He was given a fur-trimmed brown leather bomber jacket by George W. Bush during his first trip to America in the summer of 2007. Commentators gleefully pointed out that the garment was hardly in keeping with Mr Brown's usual sober attire of business suit and tie."

But he's probably too busy sulking.
Kate will become a Queen Consort ie the wife of the reigning monarch when William becomes King, whereas the present Queen is a Queen Regnant meaning she is the reigning monarch.
Note also that the monarch reigns, they don't rule. The rules are made by the democratically elected government.
Constitutional history lesson over.

Fergie once said the royals buy their bloomers from Marks & Spencer (actually I think she said Marks & Sparks).

SUPPOSEDLY, the queen wants this too.
But according to the rules of succession, it's not up to the queen or the British public.
It's up to Charles.

However, you'd hope Charles would do the sensible thing - he is not popular (even more unpopular than the royals as a whole), he is the butt of a lot of jokes, no-one respects him - people over here will always be 'on Diana's side' and he will never get away from that. If he does get to be king the history books will not be full of how he was as king, they will be full of Diana and the whole mess with Camilla. He wouldn't really get anything out of it - his legacy has been written before he has gotten anywhere near the throne.
William would always be 'Diana's son' but people would be able to form their own opinions on him and how he was as king.

Well, who couldn't love Betty? I mean, just look at that cute little face. My little Betty Boopsie Woo!
She is a queen and ruler of her domain. Which is mostly the sofa.
