and now it won't even turn on
Has this happened to anyone else? and if so, how did you fix it?
Have you tried resetting it by holding down the menu and the enter button...or connecting it to the computer...
Annnd is it still under guarantee?
i dropped mine and it started going craaazy so i took it the apple store and they fixed it... i have no idea how though... it cost me 50bucks

Yeah, I tried connecting it and holding down the buttons...everything imaginable but nothing has worked.
Thankfully it is under warranty but I don't have an apple store anywhere near me.

I dropped mine...and it still played for like...3 more songs...but then it stopped. I had to take it to the Apple store...don't tell them you dropped it. Tell them you tried it power it on and it wouldn't go. DO NOT tell them you dropped it--that will void your warranty. I got a free replacement...but I lost all of my songs.
Why did you lose your songs...weren't they on your itunes?

Thanks for that advice parks! I wasn't sure what excuse I was going to give them and I didn't realize my warranty would be voided if I dropped it. Thanks again
and your songs should be on your itunes regardless of wether or not you have the ipod

About 4/5 of my songs were on my laptop, which I...also dropped back in May. It was in the shop being repaired...they sent it back, and I had a "bad hard-drive" (broken). They replaced my hard drive...so I lost ALL of my files on my computer.
Sad times...Now I back my laptop's hard drive up every month or so.
Learned my lesson the hard way..

funny you should mention that parks because I just dropped my laptop yesterday -- I seem to be dropping everything. It works ok except for the fact that if I move it a certain way the screen goes black....that could be a bad thing but as long as it still works I'm a-ok
Ack we're gonna have to tie these electronics to you people...
*gets twine!*
Look on the brightside though...It could become a new fashion trend!

I've dropped mine a couple times (once in a parking lot) and it still turns on and stuff but it acts kinda weird now. Sometimes it takes me an unusally long time to charge it, and now even if I charge it fully it loses charge after a few minutes...it still works fine when it's plugged into some kind of power source (charger, computer) though.

My laptop does that sometimes too...I think it's just the backlight going out. I restart it, and it works fine. Does yours? I can BARELY see what's on the screen when the backlight goes off..
hi. i dropped mine a while back. it checked out for a while but then in came back on. make sure you juice it up--it could have gotten stuck in some holding pattern and then lost its power. never, ever tell them you dropped it. never.

Mine froze up on me.. It got stuck on this game I aws playing.. I let the battery run out, then I charged it.. and now it works fine.
But I've never been in the situation where I dropped it.

Yeah, my laptop works fine other than the fact that the backlight will go out from time to time but I just shake it and it works *shrugs*
Sometimes the scroll on my iPod locks up and I can't use it at all. It's really weird. If I turn on the hold, then turn it off, it usually goes back to normal but sometimes it takes longer. Anyone else have this issue?
(I spilled water on my laptop once and shorted out the motherboard. The hard drive was fine, but motherboard replacement is definitely more expensive.)
if i had a IPOD i would be SO nice to it! so please if your a ipod abuser male it to me! PM me for my address
Yes people...don't tell them you damaged it. Tell them that it stopped working by itself. What's cool about iPod is that they're willing to just replace it (and if your model is old, they'll replace it with a new model).
DO NOT tell them you dropped it. If it's still under warranty, just tell them it won't turn on.

I may surgically attach mine now like an insulin pump.
Fine, fine FINE--I'll be the one to stick my neck out here...
If you dropped your iPod, I think you should suck it up and tell them you dropped your iPod. Do all of you people think that truthfullness has no value whatsoever? Or you only have to be truthful when it won't cost you any money?
C'mon people.
Don't start an argument about truthfulness when it concerns insurance and warranties, because a company will find any loophole possible to get out of having to cover the service you paid for.
I didn't think I was starting an argument....
IMHO, anticipating someone else's dishonesty isn't much of a rationale for being dishonest yourself. Either you have standards or you don't.
