Back on topic, Jane2 I'm glad that you have begun posting again, and though I don't know what caused you to take a leave of absence I'm sorry that it happened. And as others say your photography is really quite remarkable.

Jane - I'm so sorry that you're having to go through all that pressure and heartbreak with the family issues. I do sincerely hope things are better with your mom.

As for this place... I've never been the subject of a thread before and a little while back some terribly kind and terribly misguided folks posted messages here calling me a genius and talking about how nice I was. About 3 days later, over on the main board, I was called an old, lying, manipulative, racist sock puppet. (OK - they got the 'old' part right). I put up with all of it until they added the 'racist' part and then I threatened a lawsuit. Craig and company kindly deleted the thread and the poster hasn't been heard from since. For what it's worth - I thought it was pretty funny up until that part was added but it just goes to show you the true value of the things you read on the internet!

Also for what it's worth - I just couldn't stand it if another one of my favorite old time ('old time' NOT 'old'!) posters left, so I'm as happy as can be to see you here!

And Mamie, at least the mods got rid of your cyberbully. I've been attacked brutally on this board by more than one person. The mods deleted the threads but wouldn't ban the posters. Pretty effed up stuff goes on here sometimes.

Hi Mamie! thanks so much for your kind words about me and my mother.

I'm crossing my fingers that she'll keep improving. Her heart is the problem. she's had a bypass, stents, and this time a heart attack. They did an angiogram and found that there's too much new blockage to even do anything except treat it with medications. I don't know how long she can live with that plan, but I hope it's going to work.

As for being called names on here-I've come to the point of laughing at that. It says more about the name caller than it does about you. But as you pointed out, the mods are pretty good at keeping on top of those things. What affected me this time was other people's issues being taken out on me. I had to get away from it, and the timing was right, since I had to get out of town for my mother.

We old timers know what's really important in life, don't we? Hey, I freely admit to probably being one of the oldest timer here!
