I actually really LOVE Christmas and everything that has to do with it! I understand where you all are coming from and I agree with the pop stuff but I just avoid it is all! I am Jewish but also celebrate Christmas cause I was raised celebrating everything! There are just not that many hanukkah songs. O well!

Oh now, Adam Sandler's Hannukah Song doesn't get old.

True, Rath. There was no need to update it. Anyone who doesn't know who The Fonz is doesn't deserve to listen to that song.
LA, and I love receiving presents more than I love giving, so this works out just dandy! (Any luck finding that Kevin Smith DVD at Tarjay?

I don't mind Christmas songs, as they get me in the holiday spirit, but it gets annoying when the radio stations play them over and over and over and over and over again. I like to hear them here and there.

I love Christmas music.
However, I hate the new one about the kid who's mother is dying and the kid needs to buy her a new pair of shoes. If he can't afford to buy her a pair of shoes, he needs to save the money to pay for her funeral.

Type, it's a new Christmas song by some country artist I think. It even has the requisite children's choir singing the chorus.
It goes something like:
I want to buy these shoes
for my mama please
but I don't have enough money
and Daddy says she's going to see Jesus tonight

Goth has a point though. If she's dying in a matter of hours, the money would be best spent elsewhere. Although if he buys one of them caskets that Costco just started selling, he may be able to spring for a hot dog or something.

The first time I heard the song, I thought that the father sent the kid out to do something while the mother died.
The song is bad enough, but then they add a children's choir (angels I guess) and then one boy sings a line something like "Mama's gonna see Jesus tonight".

Yes. Because apparently mama doesn't have good shoes to meet the Lord.
Somebody needs to sit down with this kid and explain the concept of death.
It's so F*CKING manipulative and YES, Tiff, Mmbop is Beethoven's 5th in comparison.
