All of my friends are into LOST.
Everyone I talk to is into LOST.
I have seen a few episodes and I truly hate it. It is horrible. But for years and years they just keep talking about LOST. I don't know what to do! I don't like it but I want to be their friends!
How can I force myself to like it so that I can be their friends? Is this just one club that I can never join?

I watched Lost for two and a half seasons before giving up in despair at the stupidity. Once it's finished for good, my sister and I are going to take some time out and whizz through the whole series. I'm much more forgiving of stupidity when I'm watching a boxset and only have to put up with it for a few hours, as opposed to watching it air weekly on TV and having to put up with it for months at a time.
Who cares though? I hardly know anyone who watches the same stuff as me, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. Just steer the conversations gently onto something that you want to talk about.

I've never seen a single episode of LOST. It's not something to worry about. Now, that thread about never seeing Harry Potter, well, I hope you're ashamed of yourself for making that grievous error.

Just pretend to watch it- that's what I do. And when the women at work start talking about it I jump in proudly: "What about the land mines? Do you think the Toucan will be back? What about that women who turned into a Labrador retriever?!"
I don't think anyone actually watches that show and those that do are so worried about being caught not understanding it, they agree with everything.

Not a watcher. I have a short attention span.
I've never seen ANY of the Godfather movies.

I've never seen Lost (well, only the first episode), The Lord of the Rings movies, The Star Wars movies, and The Godfather movies. Gosh, where have I been?
Oh, and I've never seen House.

I've seen all of the above (Lost, House, The Godfather movies, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings).
I hate every one of them but House and The Godfather. I watched two seasons of Lost, and, much like Weez, found it completely stupid. I've seen episodes here and there since then, but I just can't in good conscience jump back on that band wagon. They're still on the island? REALLY? I don't even think the writers know what story they're telling anymore.

Posted: 7/26/09 at 8:32pmI've seen The Godfather Trilogy, Star Wars (I've got all 6 DVDs), and The Lord of the Rings. Yes I'm a nerd and damn proud of it. But I stopped watching Lost when they met "The Others" and I think there was a polar bear involved or something...maybe? I dunno but I found it trite and ridiculous after a while.

Posted: 7/26/09 at 11:37pmI actually tried to get into LOST but was unable. They have no idea where the story is going they just throw out red herring after red herring and when they write themselves into a corner, they move the freaking island. I have no time for such foolishness.

I don't get it either. I've seen a few episodes, I've tried to understand it. It's just not my cup of tea.
It's not even like The Mighty Boosh - a show that has no plot save for the fact it only gets more random each episode. But even then it's easy to follow.
"Yes, the brutalities of progress are called revolutions. When they are over, men recognize that the human race has been harshly treated but it has moved forward." - Les Miserables

I've never seen any Godfather movie. I've tried, but I'm such a big fan of the book that I only get about two minutes in before it clashes with my mental pictures so much that I have to turn it off.
Although I haven't tried recently, so I have added the first one to my rental list. We'll see if I make it this time...

I couldn't get into Lost either. I tried.
Never saw the Lord of the Rings, saw the first Star Wars and the first Godfather.

Posted: 7/27/09 at 8:29amI never have seen Lost either, and I don't care. It looked boring from the start. I have also not seen The Godfather movies or every Star Wars movie. Same goes with Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Yes, I said it. I have not seen one movie or read any of the books, I don't care either. It's just not my type of fantasy. If it were filled with pretty stuff, I could be interested, but it's not.
