I'm off to la bella Italia. See you all in 2 weeks!
YUM! Enjoy!
Went to Rome/Florence & Venice for honeymoon in 1998. Doubt we will get back in 2008 as planned due to medical issues
Enjoy

ahhh I'm from Italy!
I haven't been home in about a year.
I'm jealous.

I hope you are doing some of the Tuscan hill towns.......I'll take them over Florence any day!
Ciao, bella!
We might make a detour to Tuscany if we can get away one day!
I LOVED Florence. And Venice is now the top attraction in the world tourisim. Just be prepared for the "sticker shock"

I wish you the very best...but Italy in August? It's so hot that most of the shops close down. As the 15th is the Feast of the Assumption, you won't find ANYTHING open except for touristy-shops.
hottest July on record in Florence when we were there last month and ALL was open........with the influx of tourist coming, they stay open....

I hope that Hanna drinks gallons of water.
Italy is known for closing down on Marian Feast Days.

When I was in Italy a few weeks ago, the "aqua minerale" was just as poular at the dinner table as the vino!

Of course, I also favor the European Fanta--icy cold. The American version of it doesn't compare.
I am in total agreement Dolly......I especially like Blood Orange Fanta available in France

The blood orange is going by a different name in Italy. It's somwthing like "Red Passion". I don't care what they call it, it's good.
While I was in Lourdes, I was checking my e-mail at the same internet cafe (one with English keyboards!) on almost a daily basis. The owner, Max, knew of my passion for Fanta and always had a cold one waiting for me when I got there.
Ah, Italy. The only Country I could leave NYC for.
Have fun. I lived there as an exchange student with the Experiment in International Living. The greatest experience of my life.
Have fun.
You must go to Florence, Siena, Pistoia, Venice, Torino.
My favorite place though is Sardenia.
I adore Italy.

I went back to my Italian Sisters weddding.
I should write to them.
They introduced me to Nutella before we had it in the US.
That is one thing I wish they never did.
And Giandua candy.

One is left to ponder whether the Bellati family misses Corine.
