YUMMY!!!!
The first one was a little too fishy for my liking so for the rest of them I put teriyaki chicken on top and I loved them!!! yummy, yummy, yummy! For years I'd stay away from it, cuz' the seaweed made me uneasy, but I'm glad I finally tried it. YUMMY!...
Rite of passage.... Glad you liked it!
mmmmmmmm. Now I know what I want for dinner.
Try tuna or salmon rolls. Both are rather mild.
I'll meet you across the street, Matt! I'm in the mood too.

i'm glad you liked it. i hate sushi. but that's just me.
yum -- spicy tuna roll, ebbi...Matt and BT is ther room for me at the table?
it's one of my faves, BUT it is indeed a required taste...keep trying new kinds--you'll get an appreciation for the good stuff...why are some people so steadfast about not trying new food? if you don't like it spit it out......right Matt G?
lol! I'm actually afraid of eating fish (I have no idea why...) but I tried vegetable sushi for the first time a few weeks ago. I was also afraid of eating seaweed, but I got over that. It was actually pretty good!
I've never had any.....I feel deprived.
I would think Matt_G is particular about everything before putting it in his mouth...
Personally, the seaweed's the best part!
Do you eat rolls? Like cali/dynamite/alaskan/tuna rolls? I'm good with rolls, but I can't get into sushi or sashimi. I've forced myself to eat it, hoping some day I'll start to like it, but no such luck. (BTW, Cats...the first one you had that was too fishy was probably tuna. Am I right?)
I'm a fan of the chunks myself, but rolls are good too. I had sashimi yesterday. There are few things I'd rather put in my mouth than raw salmon or tuna.

where did u go? the sushi might have been old, as fresh fish shouldn't have any smell...although most sushi is made from flash-frozen fish...except for a few spots...
I've found tuna to be smelly no matter what (and I live in Vancouver, so the fish is so fresh it's almost still flopping around on the plate :) ). The thing about tuna is it's so chalky in texture, and too chewy, imo.
yay for CATS! I love the spicy tuna roll, fried ebbi roll, and shrimp tempura roll. Speaking of japanese food, shrimp tempura and udon noddles (in soup) are really good. yummmmm

I am nuts about sushi. However, I have found the sushi on the west coast particularly California to be much better than the east coast. When you eat in a Japanese restaurant, try ordering green tea ice cream fopr dessert. Very good.
also enjoy the cold soba noodles...
vancouver is a fantastic city! i'll be there fairly soon! and the sushi is majorly cheap!
Mmmmm, I so want some sushi right now.
*runs to local sushi bar*
Never had it. I don't like fish
If you don't like cooked fish, I guess raw fish is your hell. (My hell is an outhouse with seagulls flying overhead but that's another story.)
When are you coming to Vancouver, lildogs? There's some awesome sushi places of various prices, like, everywhere! If you want high-end, go for Tojo's, Mazuki, or Blue Water Cafe (that's where Hugh Jackman, Lucy Liu and Catherine Z-J went). For more budget prices, try Richmond Sushi or...lord...there's too many budget sushi places to list (and good all-you-can-eat buffets - $11/lunch, $20/dinner, incl. sashimi!).

I'm a vegetarian and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE veggie sushi.
Veggie California rolls
Avocado Rolls
Cucumber Rolls
Sweet Potato Tempura rolls
mmmmm <3333
Veggie cali rolls?? Isn't the crab meat fake already?
What does <3333 mean? I've seen it used a few times and I thought it was something sick that I just wasn't "getting", but I mean, we're talking about sushi!
Does veggie sushi taste like faux fish? I had faux ham in Zen Palate and I'm still having nightmares about the taste.

to answer both your questions:
Type A Tiff- in the veggie cali rolls I get, there's no crab meat or faux crab meat. It's all veggies. AND DAMN good.
<3 is a sideways heart. A lot of people add <3333 more to the heart depending on how much they love something. Nothing dirty! :)
Hot Ticket- Veggie sushi doesn't taste like faux fish, it's all vegetables. and tastes SO good! I like Zen Palate but I'm not a fan of the faux meat. It's weird. lol
