Can someone, anyone, please explain why they're supporting the GOP this election? Their hypocrisy astounds me, and the extent to which the media is complicit in the spread of disinformation is remarkable. Like many others, I'm disillusuioned with the current administration, so I get the frustrations. However, the GOP is talking out of both sides of their mouths. They're running against the deficit, but they're proposing unpaid tax cuts that will add trillions to the deficit. They're running against the stimulus, but they're requesting funds and smiling at ribbon cutting ceremonies. They're proposing nothing but a return to the policies of the Bush administration, with even more conservative social policies. They're threatening to shut down the government.
Apologies for the rambling rant, but I'm very frustrated with our electorate. I keep hoping the we're going to get a collective wake-up call, that we'll recognize that the emperor has no clothes.
I'd love to hear a serious, thoughtful response from any GOP supporter, explaining how their 'ideas' are going to help us.

Because they are awful awful people.
I don't believe that >40% of Americans are awful people.
Loyal to the party, AND THAT IS ALL! Anyone to beat Obama and the Democrats,no matter how bad they are and the outcome that will affect the future. If Al Capone were alive and running as a Republican, they'd support him no matter what. As long as you are against Obama, your past record and the things you've done do not matter.
i am not ignoring this, but i don't have time to give you a really good answer.
in the short term, i'll just say that anyone who does not support and thank the gop daily for this year's crop of candidates does not have a sense of humor.
a witch, a bigot, a crazy ass grandma, and a whole host of others who are high-profile with low expectations.
that said, the only time i email the gop anymore (and since 2008 really) is to spew expletives at them for their utter and complete inanity.

papa, you should make a matching game out of that! It would be really hard. I can think of about half a dozen people who would fit #2.
Oh, and don't forget a Real World jackass
"...a crazy ass grandma..."
Wait...I didn't know Palin was running?!?!?

Papa again I admire you for admitting when your party has gone completely bat-poo crazy. Another Republican friend seems to think the presence of Alan Greyson in congress more than justifies any Republican stupidity.

Johnny Knoxville is running for the GOP? He couldn't even handle a prostate massage!

Sean Duffy from Real World Boston is way ahead in his congressional race in Wisconsin. He is married to Rachel Campos who was on RW San Francisco.
Personally, I'd never vote for a congressman who'd settle for Puck's sloppy seconds, but hey.....
And the two reality lovers are both Class A, homophobic pricks.
