Whenever I see myself singing in the mirror, I notice my nostrils flaring. Dos anyone know why that is?
Great...I just read this, checked myself...and noticed the same thing.
Guess were in the same boat now...

My nose does that too. Also, if I open my mouth too wide whil singing, my nostrils kind of go indent. Not really indent, but I can't think of a word to describe it.

maybe you sign through your nose?
(I can't be certain because I've never heard you...but it sounds like it could be possible.)

Were you trained to sing classically or with speech level singing? The "only" thing I can think of is practice a lot more with speech level singing and totally forget classical. Although, if you already do that, than I'm no help :)
Totally forget classical and enjoy not having a voice by the time you're 40

Huh? SLS has worked wonderfully for millions of people. With SLS, one can gain an octave within a few short lessons, as opposed to classical, where for some gets them nowhere. Ask anybody who has trained in SLS, and they'll tell you.
I'm not saying classical is bad; if it works for some, awesome. But, if what one wants is a higher range, and fast, SLS is a much better way to go. It's worked wonders for me.

When I sing. Yes, this sounds really messed up and stupid. but my eyes start to tear so it looks like im crying. Just for no reason during any song.

Happens to me during ballads lol
And if anything from Fame ... oh God, that's a killer. BOT is the most heart-wrenching showtune "ever"!
tmm_fan, could you not start this here. This doesn’t necessarily mean your singing with you nose. If your singing a pop song there is a section in your upper lip where you need the sound to resonate. When this happens your nostrils flare. Try singing a classical song if the same thing happens place you hand in the shape of an arch and use your index finger to cover your nose. Then try singing if your sound changes drastically then PM me and I'll attempt to explain in writing what to do next to avoid this habit.

I'm not starting anything; I'm simply responding to a post. If I somehow implied that I wanted to start a debate, then I apologize. But, if you scroll up and read my response, you will see that all I did was respond to the guy.
Don't worry about it. Chances re the audience isn't going to notice your nose flaring from their seats, and during an audition if you sing well enough the judges aren't going to care. Sutton Foster's nose flares when she sings sometimes, your not alone.
