...and let me just say that it was amazing! Best Harry Potter movie yet and hands down the best summer blockbuster yet (not that it's hard to beat the other ones...). Daniel Radcliffe has really grown as an actor! The girl playing Luna was wonderful and Helena Bonham Carter was truly creepy as Bellatrix Lestrange. The movie was weird, scary, funny, transporting. There are so many great little moments that will make fans of the books really delighted (especially if you're a Neville fan). I can't wait to see it again, and I can't wait until the book comes out! I'm so jazzed for Harry Potter.
Awesome! Where did you see it?
I'm so happy to hear this! Especially after the Times gave it three out of five stars.
Myspace did a promotional thing in some cities where you got to see the movie early. Is the Times review out early or something?
yeah they had this last night in orlando, was gonna go, had friend who worked at the theater, i gave hima call around 5:30 as the show started at 7:30, and he was like, "dude there are 700 people waiting outside already, and were only doing one showing in the 650 seat house" so i passed, but he told me it's the best out of the 5 movies
That's so cool! I really want to see this. I think I'm seeing it the 11th in IMAX.
I'm thrilled to hear you loved it! I'm in complete Potter mode. It's so sad it's all coming to an end now. (Except for the movies.)

The movies will let me hand onto it a little while longer.
I've grown up with Harry...it's like the end of a literary era.
But the real question is...how was Tonks??
Kitz, that's what I'm talkin' aboot!

Awesome. I'm glad to hear it's good. And I'm glad you said jazzed.
Tonks wasn't in it TOO much but the actress playing her was perfect and she had a few great moments.
I'm pretty devastated about Harry Potter finally ending (I'm pretty sure I've been reading it for about half my life) but at least we'll know the whole story! And there are still two movies to go, so Harry Potter fever won't be over for years yet.
I can't believe we have to wait more than 20 days still...
This is the least favorite of the books to me.. but after seeing the trailer it might just be my favorite of the movies.
I can't wait to see it.
I love the book, but I felt the ending, or at least the part in the Ministry, was either rushed, or not thought out well enough. I had to read it three or four times to actually understand what happened.
Or maybe it's just bad. I dunno.
Really? That's one of my favorite sequences in all the books. To each their own.
In retrospect I'm wondering if the critics will like the movie as much since parts of it won't make as much sense if you aren't filling in the holes from having read the books.
If the movie can't stand up on its own, then it's a bad movie.
You shouldn't have to read the book to be able to understand the plot.
I can't wait for the movie. I don't read the books, but I've enjoyed the films.
Like a fool, I went to that guy's website and read what is allegedly the ending of the last book (don't worry, I'm not saying a thing).
Supposedly he hacked into the book company's website and posted the spoilers to ruin the book b/c he felt it was anti-christian
or some such nonsense.
I read about that, but didn't actually read the spoilers.
I've tried to stay away from all the previews, and reviews, and pictures, but I can't.
I CANNOT wait for the movie. My friend Cait made T-shirts. We're gonna wear them with pride!
Cool!
And the lightning bolt glows in the dark!
Speaking of the scene in the ministry and related things, how is Sirius? As my favorite character in the series, the end of OotP was understandably heartbreaking for me. Is it played out just as well on film as in the novel?
SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know why but I have a crazy theory that Sirius is, in fact, alive. I think that maybe the deathly hallows are through the veil in the Ministry of magic, and Harry will ultimatly go through, and Find Sirius there, alive and well.
We never actually saw him die. We only saw him get hit with the curse and fall through the veil, but a body was never found. Given Rowling's track record for narrative misdirection, I feel that we haven't seen the end of Sirius. at least I hope not.
I don't think we have either. She says that Harry hears voices. Perhaps their alive, but not able to get back through.
Hopefully, JK will reveal why there's a veil in the first place. What's it for?
Is it played out just as well on film as in the novel?
Really? That is what pissed me off so much about that book that . . .
**SPOILER**
Sirius's death was like, he's here and now he's not. It seemed like Rowling didn't have a great idea how to kill him off that it was done so quickly.
