Posted: 1/28/11 at 11:20amHow is it Somms? I've eaten at a LOT of Chinese restaurants ina lot of diverse places and I've never HEARD of any of the 700 or so restaurants named. I know the Village Voice crowd went ballistic over the NYC places picked.

The food, and their specialty cocktails, are excellent, Joe. The same family owns another place, Little Dragon, one town over. Concerto Fusion is their upscale take on Chinese/Asian food.

Posted: 1/28/11 at 11:59amThat menu is great- but I must confess I have enough trouble picking a reasonable number of items at a chinese restaurant with making me drool over Sushi or Tom Kha soup, also.

PF Chang's is very inconsistent. Sometimes it's very good but the last time I went to the one in Albany, NY, my lo mein tasted like plastic.
I'm addicted to this place in Chinatown where you get five items for $4.50. I go there everytime I'm in NYC...

Posted: 1/28/11 at 4:17pmThe "Top 100" list is very weird. There is no overlap from year to year -- next year's list will probably be a completely different set of 100 restaurants. And there are some obvious restaurants missing from the list. Given that it is coming from a trade group, I'm wondering if the restaurants are paying to be considered and it's basically a promotional tool for the restaurants who are participating that year.

The number one restaurant on that list, Yang Ming, is awesome. The ppl that own it own a bunch of restaurants around Philly and they are all outstanding.
Candied walnut chicken and steamed dumplings.....mmmmmmmm.
I just drooled on my keyboard.

...I officially hate this thread.
I went to the gym today--went to spin class... and then decided General Tso's tofu was what I would be having for dinner. I am in pain from eating so much... oy.
