I met Mamie and she is quite charming and a wonderful theatre companion! I spoke to Corine on the phone about a puppet some time back.

I've met many folks on here and have never had anything but a pleasant experience. Well, maybe with just one exception.

I'm surprised that not living on the east coast, how many bww'ers I've met and have become true friends.

I'm definitely mixed on this. My brain always tells me it would be fun and cool to do, but then because I'm actually extremely quiet and shy, it makes me afraid to meet people.
I was actually more open to it in the past, but thanks to a group of fans from another board I posted on, I ended up realizing all they did was stalk the music group we liked and acted like they were best friends. Since the board closed down years ago, I've only remained in brief contact with a couple of those people. I never even met them.

Oh dear, I haven't been completely successful in forgetting the fact that I met Mr Roxy a few years ago. His wife seemed to be quite lovely, but Roxy was dressed so shabbily (flannel shirt, baseball cap, faded and ill-fitting jeans) that I walked away without saying a word. I wouldn't want to be seen in public with a man who looked that dreadful. The rolled up copy of the Daily News in his back pocket didn't add to his allure, either.

I have met Shira, DayDreamer, and know Theaterdiva and of course Iris Chacon. I also had a encounter with JRB Actor. They all like to get their freak on like I do. So they have all been a pleasure.
Except for Corine of course. That one is a stalker. You could ask Dollypop if you want to know what I mean.

My first time ever in New York, I got off the Greyhound at Port Authority and I'm standing alone just around the corner from times square with my luggage taking it all in, neck craned upwards at the skyscrapers when suddenly I hear "Akiva?". Turns out it was Liotte recognizing me from the boards! Hah my first 5 minutes in New York and I get recognized. Its a moment I'll never forget. On the same trip I had the please of bumping into several board members including Jerby, Mistress, BroadwayGuy2, etc. All of whom were so awesome.

Akiva- that is a GREAT story! I really do think that for the most part, everyone on this board is fantastic. Like Dame and Dolly have pointed out- I guess some of you have had bad experiences but I'd like to think that those cases are the exception!

Akiva, that's because you're so strikingly handsome. Your image is etched in the minds of discerning theater-goers who frequent these boards, so they have no difficulty spotting you in a crowd.
I would imagine that Brad Pitt has the same problems.

I seated Dame at Wonderful Town when I was an usher. To quote Violet of A:OC, it was "scintillating".
I have a number of friends in real life from here. Often forget that's how we met it's been so long.

I've actually met several people from another site I go to many times. Some of them even came and spent the weekend at my house and we went to a Goo Goo Dolls show. It was great!

I met the late and unlamented VoiceAnth twice. He was cockeyed drunk both on both occasions and I've gone out of my way to avoid him since.

I have NO intentions on meeting any BWW poster in person, EVER! (Unless it's one of the Broadway veterans that posts here).

I've met a couple people that don't post here often, or anymore at all. I saw CaptHook when he was here in NYC, but it didn't dawn on me that it was him till after the fact. I've also seen CatStageStud at a couple auditions in the city, but have been too shy to approach him (despite the fact that he seems to be nothing but a gentlemen)

I tried to take a picture of Mr Roxy but the camera lens shattered in the process. That tells you something about Mr Roxy's looks.
The question is, how could the lovely Lady Roxy find him attractive enough to get close to--let alone marry him?. It's not because of his prowess behind closed doors because the poor lady is still waiting for their marriage to be consummated. The woman has the patience of a saint...and she's Jewish.
Sad. Terribly sad.

I was all nerves about meeting anyone from the boards and put it off a couple of times. When I finally made it to a brunch, I wished I had done it sooner. There are some truly wonderful people on this board.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

I don't really post here anymore, and I barely even read the boards (something I probably should rectify), but I have had the pleasure of meeting three wonderful posters. If the quality of the people here can be judged from these three alone, then this site is in good shape. I have met the great Wildcat (one of the best posters from about 4 years ago) on a number of occassions, I got to hang out with his eminence Broadwayboobs when he was in Australia, and I met Greekmusicalfan in Greece, no less.
I certainly wouldn't be averse to meeting more in the future, especially when I finally make it to NY like I keep planning!

Doxy!! *HUG*
Wow, I just knew there was a reason I should check in here tonight!
Regarding the topic of meeting people: I have had the great fortune to meet and get to know a number of people who came into my life through BWW. I have met people who have changed my life, and will always be grateful for the experience.
Dame, we haven't met, but we've come close. I've heard your voice!
One of these days we will have a mojito together. It's a promise.

Dolly, you may say that 'clothes make the man'.
I prefer to believe in 'don't judge a book by its cover'.
I would never presume to judge someone by what they are wearing. I may have my thoughts and feelings, but I would never judge.
I have seen Dollypop. I have never met him. I never want to.
