Eddie Murphy's BEST work.

The costumes were period and BREATHTAKING!

Beyonce's "Listen" was also incredible in addition to JH's "and I am telling...."

AND beyonce looked beautiful! Though it is loosely based on the supreme's sometimes some of the pictures and album covers were spot on to Diana Ross.

The theatricality of the way it was shot (kudos to the director of photography...sometimes not given enough credit in films) was refreshing.

This is really a giant step for the modern movie musical! BRAVO!

As much as I love JHud and think she does an amazing job, I think Cate Blanchett may take it for her RIDICULOUSLY amazing performance in "Notes on a Scandal."
