re: I'm going to Ireland!

it is LOVELY there. I went a couple summers ago and had a total ball. Make sure to visit Cork, it's probably my favorite European city and second favorite city in the world! (behind new york re: I'm going to Ireland!)

I live in Ireland! I'm just so happy!

Trust me, don't get your hopes up.
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

re: I'm going to Ireland!

I'm touring a show over there. The show is in St. Patricks...so we'll be in Dublin for a majority of the time. I do think that we get a day of out-of-town sightseeing though! Any other suggestions?

CONGRATS! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful experience. YAY!

I've only been to Ireland once, and we were only in Adare (Co. Limerick), but it was lovely. I want to go back and explore! re: I'm going to Ireland!

re: I'm going to Ireland!

Ohh, lucky! Ireland is the one place in the world that I can say I've ALWAYS wanted to visit. I've had this book about Ireland that I take out every once in a while and read. It's a little ridiculous and possibly mildly unhealthy. But a girl can dream, right?

Have fun!!! =]

re: I'm going to Ireland!

Is that the kind of book that involves Leprechauns and subsistence farming? Because you may be in for a shock...

And CQTB, I knew I held the keys to your heart.

re: I'm going to Ireland!

Hah, it's a travel book with information on all the parts of Ireland, the sweet pubs to hit up, the dance festivals and such...most things a person traveling to Ireland would want to know, I guess. And there are tons of pictures...not ALL of gorgeous countryside views...lots of street pictures with somewhat unflattering sights. But I find the unflattering pictures all the more charming, for some reason. I adore Ireland, from the pictures and the people I've met from there...and the cultural information I've learned and all that. Hah, I'm sorry if my view of Ireland is romanticized a bit. I can't really help it, living in America.

re: I'm going to Ireland!

I know, a lot of American tours avoid the real Ireland and focus on the tiny snippets of the old predictable Ireland that they want to see.

Believe me, we Irish aren't all as nice as we're cracked up to be. or as drunk, for that matter.

I hate to be a spoilsport, but what is the exchange rate these days? Last summer the dollar was VERY weak in England and I wound up paying double for everything.
