Basically, I haven't gotten any since February and am in desperate need of a man. My problem is, however, that sometimes, when guys show interest in me and IM or email me a lot, I get irritated and want to go away. Usually, if I'm actually interested in THEM, they don't want to talk to me. Any other women have this problem?

Shbrt - I haven't gotten any play at all since November 19, 2002. (My anniversary where my bf dumped me while we were still in bed.) Top that! I totally hear you though. I tend to get turned off by guys who show interest in me first, and then I complain when I have to work for it and then the guy shows no interest!

Shbrt, I have the same problem, though. I had a quick thing with a guy at school a few weeks ago, but it wasn't anything serious. I just needed a distraction; but when guys are interested, I'm the runner. When I'm interested, nothing.

Damn, girl, you got me beat. And what a d*ck to dump you like that!
So why do you think this happens? The thrill of the chase? My problem is I can't be mean. I can't tell guys I don't want to date them because I don't want to hurt their feelings. But it hurts them more when I ignore them. Vicious cycle.

Definitely the thrill of the chase. And low self-confidence - I think when a guy shows interest first, and I'm not really working for it, I kinda feel like the guy must be a loser for digging me even when I'm not at my best, ya know? I'm too nice, but i'll never give my number out at a bar. i take their numbers, never call, and then never go back to that bar again because i'd feel badly if i saw them again.

Hehe! We should form a club, you guys. I have a couple of guys right now who ask me to hang out a lot, but I'm not interested (in fact, I think one of them is downright creepy), so I keep putting it off. Most irritating thing ever.

Definitely. One of my fondest memories of my #(%)#*(&^% ex-boyfriend was a little spot on his hip where I could perfectly place my wrist when we cuddled. Little things like that make all the crap worth it.

Shrbrt - I saw the authors for that book on Oprah last week and I'm dying to get it! I think I'll be getting it for my birthday soon! 
It looks hilarious.
You know what's funny though. As an observer, it's always so easy to see what's wrong with someone's relationship, but it's never that easy to analyze yourself or rationalize with people in that situation. You notice that?
