I went to see OBLIVION today, in an IMAX theater. The sound volume was so high that I had a serious headache by the end of the movie and I spent the first hour afterwards with that bizarre hearing dullness that you get when you descend in a plane and can't clear your ears. It gradually went away but I don't think I will be going to any more IMAX showings (which I used to really enjoy). The theater manager says that the volume cannot be adjusted as it is pre-set by the distributors. Am I the only one who can't understand why things have to be so loud as to be painful? (I enjoyed the movie in all other respects, which is the only reason I toughed it out to the end.)

Well, there is your problem. You enjoyed "Oblivion" so there is clearly something wrong with you.

Oblivion is terrible. It literally had the line, "It's not our job to remember, remember?"

I saw the last Batman movie in IMAX. It was excruciating. The sound was too loud. I had a headache, my eyes crossed and I think I had a panic attack.

It was garish. Honestly, I think viewers are too close to the screen to fully enjoy it. Bigger is not always better.
