I had nebver heard this before, but I looked her up on IMDB.com and this is what I found:

Actually, this is what she has:
It is called Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome. When humans are developing, they start off with a genotype of XX (genetically female)or XY (genetically male). Inutero (in the uterus), the embryo develops androgenously (can't tell what it is from the outside). All of the sex organs start off as something that (what would become ovaries or testicles) can be either. What makes a boy a boy, is the Y chromosome signalling the cells to release androgens (precurser testosterone), and then the soon to be sex organs's receptors taking the testosterone in, which enters the cells, enters the nucleus, and changes the DNA, to make proteins, to change the organ and move it where it needs to be (for example, penis vs. clitoris, vas deferans will form instead of fallopean tubes, and a prostate gland instead of a uterus etc.) *I simplified this just to get to the point faster and not bore people more than I already am* Testosterone is only responsible for the secondary sex characteristics (outside stuff like penis/clitoris. If no testosterone is ever released at the right time early on, then the fetus becomes a female externally (labia, vagina etc.). The fetus also becomes female even if testosterone is made, but never reaches inside the sex organs. That is what Jamie Lee has. She is genetically XY (male), but her testosterone receptors are bad, so she turned into a female externally. She was born with ambiguous external organs (large clitoris/small penis, labia/swollen scrotom). She had undesended testicles (in the position of ovaries), no uterus, 2/3 vagina. After examination, Dr.'s ask the parents what they want the child to become. It is always easier to complete the female cosmetically, and that is what her parents decided. They removed her testicles, and when she reached puberty, she was put on "birth control" (estrogen) so she would develop breasts, and other feminine attributes. She has no ovaries or uterus so she cannot have kids.
