Try the cool Asian restaurant Tao. Look at www.taorestaurant.com.

For fun, she might like Blue Man Group Tubes, Stomp, Rent, or Aida.

Also you might want to check out some of the cool hotel restaurants, especially those with great views.

"Do dinner, dessert, then theater. Or dinner, theater, dessert. Or theater, dinner, dessert."

why not dessert, theater, dessert, dessert?

You aren't feeling overwhelmed are you?

Marriot Marquis bar has a great view of Time Square. After a show this is a great place to go. Also for dinner I would suggest Orso or Barbettas, both which are basement restaurants, both GREAT!

Why is an establishment recommendable just because it's been IN A MOVIE?? As if that were an indication of anything.

Actor987, you haven't given us much to go on. What kind of food/atmosphere/music, etc does your sister like? What kind of price range are we talking about? Would she really appreciate touristy junk like Planet Hollywood or is she more upscale? Are you interested in dinner or nightlife? Bars or dessert joints?

The View at the Marriot Marquis (bar referenced to above) is closed for renovations for the summer. Theyr'e hoping to reopen in time for the republican natl convention, but right now its not looking good since the only thing in place are the walls. So its a great place to check out next time you're in NYC, but if your trip is soon you're out of luck.

At Playbill On Line you can get $25 tickets for NAKED BOYS SINGING--and have your sister's picture taken with some of the cast members afterwards. (She IS turning 21, you said!) Then you can have a great dinner at MANGIA E BEVE, which is right around the corner on Eight AVE. (Maggie mentioned it in her post). It'll be a fun night for all. And it won't break the budget.
