I'd try to thank my family and people who had helped me get to that point, including family, friends, cast members, the director and people like that, and I would also thank God.
"It's a great feeling of power to be naked in front of people. We're happy to watch actual incredible graphic violence and gore, but as soon as somebody's naked it seems like the public goes a bit bananas about the whole thing."
I would first be gracious and thank the Tony Awards. Then, the cast, crew/technical staff, then writer, producer, director, friends, family, significant other (if applicable)
My friend Nora and I were joking around one night when we were in 7th grade debating about what we would say if we won an award. Jokingly, I said that I would walk up onstage, take my award, go to the podium and say "Thanks--you know who you are." And exit.
We laughed for hours. If I ever win anything in the future, I know by buddy Nora will be there, and I think that is what I would say.
hm...i would thank the directors and people in the production, my family and friends, those who got me to that point, and every actor that has inspired me to become a star on Broadway.

Ha! I like all of these. A friend and I were also discussing this once and I decided I would do a little dance, thank my mom and then point to all the people I beat and say "I beat you...and you...and you. HA!" and then walk off...but methinks that would be mean. So maybe I'd pay some guy to streak during my acceptance speech....
Yenta...I'm sure you've covered this before, but just for me will you explain your screen name?...and this isn't thread jacking b/c I made this thread...so ha!

"Friends are the people you chose as family."....Me.
Catie.........in 1974 I was in my high school production of Our Town and played the character Mrs. Soames. She was the town busy body and a real gossip. So, she was a real yenta. Some of the other kids in the cast started calling me the Grover's Corner's Yenta. The name stuck. even the Drama Club Advisor { who is now in an institution but answers to the name of DollyPop} called me that name. In the final scene when the characters were talking from behind their gravestones, Mrs. Soames gravestone said " Here Lies Louella Soames-- The Yenta Of Grovers Corners. "
"Friends are the people you chose as family."....Me.
