Imprecatory. That's the new word I learned today. What does it mean? It's an adjective, used most often in the phrase 'imprecatory prayer'. It refers to a prayer asking God to harm someone, often asking for their death. It's being used by pastors in many conservative churches around the country. It has even made it's way onto bumper stickers, t-shirts, etc., using the slogan 'Pray For Obama - Psalm 109:8'. To save you the trouble of looking it up, here is the verse, along with those immediately following it:

8 Let his days be few;
and let another take his office.
9 Let his children be fatherless,
and his wife a widow.
10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg:
let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath;
and let the strangers spoil his labor.
12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him:
neither let there be any to favor his fatherless children.
13 Let his posterity be cut off;
and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD;



Prayer?

I believe the word is actually precatory.

People are wackadoodles.

So many stupid things in that article.

"If he does not turn to God and does not turn his life around, I am asking God to enforce imprecatory prayers that are throughout the Scripture that would cause him death, that's correct."

Er... What? When has Obama denounced and/or turned away from god? As far as I know, he still goes to church every Sunday with the fam.

"You're going to tell me that I'm supposed to pray for the socialist devil, murderer, infanticide... Nope. I'm not gonna pray for his good. I'm going to pray that he dies and goes to hell." (This coming from a guy who showed up to a speech with guns.)

Yes! He's a 'murderer', so it's totally fine for you to go out and murder the 'socialist devil'!


And then there's the anti-gay thing. Don't these people realize that Obama can't do ANYTHING about gay marriage or abortion? Those two are up to congress, not him.

Once again, these people are incredibly well-informed. They know exactly what socialism is, and what political powers the president has. Yep.
