A new decade begins.

I wonder what the highlights of this past decade will be.

And how will it be referred to? The zeros? The pre-tens?

I wonder what the radio stations will say. They can't resort to the usual, "playing the hits of the eighties, nineties, and today."

"Today" won't cut it.

Unless they just want to skip over the last ten years of music, which might be okay to some.

It's definitely going to be strange in twenty or thirty years when people start referencing the twenties and thirties meaning 2020 and 2030 instead of the 1920s and 30s. But, I guess we did that last time when referring to the twenties as the 1920s and not the 1820s so I guess it will happen again.

That's cheating! Unless they really did talk about loving the next thousand years.

... in which case, I might actually watch the show.

When I've heard this decade referred to with a collective term, the referrer has generally gone with the Noughties. Which is a bit fluffy and superficial-sounding, but then, so was the decade.

I can't help but feel that I've completely wasted the last nine years. Anyone else feeling like that? D:

best12bars, they could do... 80s, 90s, 2000 to today.

I do too, weez.

I don't feel like I've wasted them, mainly because that would mean I wasted all but the first 3 1/2 years of my life, which I didn't.

I'm sure most of us have accomplished a lot in ten years, it's just a matter of trying to remember. Hard. re: In exactly two months...

Well, I'm not dead yet, and I'm sure I've spent enough on theatre tickets to keep several actors alive, so... does that count for something?! XD
