I know there are many single people here who might find this an affront to their situation, and for that I apologize. I truly don’t wish to say that you’re missing out on anything, really.
BUT, I just have to say that, I’m so very thrilled and happy that I have gotten to experience the joy of shared love in my life! Yes, it will undoubtedly end in loss, for whatever reason. But in the meantime, we get to experience more thrilling sunrises – that shine with the promise of what our new day can bring – and the stars shine more brightly at night.
Whatever the pains that daily life is comprised of, I am so humbly grateful that – for whatever time we are allowed – we know what it’s like to feel safe and unafraid of ourselves. That is truly a gift.

Well this single person is happy for you! I can't wait for it to happen to me one day, and I'm sure it'll have been worth the wait.

Hah,
Thanks. If it doesn't happen soong though I will become one of those bitter singles...The ones I hate. But right now I am loving the bachelor's life and playing matchmaker to my friends.

In my community I am well over the age to get married. But then again I am definitely the outcast anyways...

I'm so happy for you too, DGrant! I'm another single soul awaiting that first kiss of love. (It's not looking good, though.)
Surely this thread was created because you've recently experienced a specific moment of warm, fuzzy romance! Tell us: did you receive roses? Candles on a beach arranged in your name? A gourmet meal cooked in your honour?

just kidding, folks..just kidding!

Posted: 11/1/05 at 1:59amDespite being out of the closet for four years now, I've never had a boyfriend. Ever. I've learned to live without: am I really missing that much?

As a single person I too am happy for you. I don't think you're saying single people are missing out so much as giving inspiration as to exactly why it is that people keep trying to find love. I hope your happiness lasts a lifetime.

While the nice thoughts for me are, well, nice, the focus here is the LOVE! And there really wasn't a specific incident - I just get consumed sometimes by the completeness of what I feel about this man, and decided to 'sing out, Louise!'
Sword - it will last as long as it needs to
Certainly, if I were to choose, it would take us through the end of one of our days!
Blue - I was 38 when this new journey unfolded for me - and up until that time I had never even had a steady boyfriend. I have been 'out' my entire adult life, and really did enjoy being a single person at the buffet table of humanity. I never gave this type of reality a thought. It's not that I didn't think it would happen to me, I just never really thought about it - other than knowing I really did like my alone time! And then, here I am. So, you never really know what's going to happen in life - with love or anything else.

Posted: 11/1/05 at 8:36amDG I want to join you in your praise of Love. I am madly in love and at times can not contain it. I didn't plan on this happening, but the best things in life are never planned. My best friend became my true love and everyday is better because I am able to wake up in his arms. Love is what makes even the worst days worth living. I could not imagine my life without my husband and without the love and joy that he has brought into my life.

That's so sweet, DG. I'm really happy for you. I have no doubt that you deserve to be this happy.
Personally, I don't really believe in romantic love anymore, in regards to myself at least. I believe in it in general and I see it in others, but I just don't see it pertaining to myself. And, frankly, I'm OK with that. However, that doesn't mean I'm not open to things.

Sorry - that's EXACTLY how I was! And now, a whole new ball game . . .

If I had seen this yesterday, I would've been dancing in the fountains with you, Mr. Grant. Unfortunately, I don't feel much like dancing today. But I'm glad for you.

Lil - what heppened.
I also sing the praises Dgrant. I have been with my wife 1/2 of my life and every day it gets better, not just the sexy parts. It takes a partnership to get through the various challenges that we all face every day. (It is easier since she is smoking hot!)
