...a small town in rural NY is trying to force a Muslim community to dig up their cemetary. They're holding meetings, and scouring their zoning regs to come up with something, although there seems to be no apparent cause.

Unbelievable. Well okay, not really, but I still have trouble getting my head around the level of venom the human heart is capable of producing when driven by unfounded prejuidice and fear.

I would imagine that all over the country, not just New York state, such private cemeteries exist without being viewed as any sort of problem. Where I grew up in the rurual south, some relatives (cousins of my grandma, I think) had a small cemetery plot in their back yard. - Barb

It's just disgusting. Desecrating the dead is the lowest of the low.

Everytime I hear a story like this all I can do is chant to myself "karma is a boomerang".
