Why isn't this a national news story? Why am I not hearing about this in the mainstream media?!?! So grotesque. This kind of ignorance and stupidity needs to ****ing stop.
The restaurant owner will condemn their lifestyle while simultaneously taking their business and their money. Sounds predictably hypocritical.

Sounds like the government. On a federal level our marriages aren't recognized, but hot damn they'll take our tax dollars. Douche bags!
'Gods' Law' is not a law by parliament or government but just a belief by a certain number of people who,by right, have the right to believe whatever they want. There are many interpretations and many Gods and all have their different 'laws'.Which ever one you choose to believe,do so,but do it privately. An individual has the right to choose their own path and not be imposed upon-or given 'notes' should you disagree. To want to change the world to YOUR way is totally selfish and egotistical--BUTT OUT !! Peace x

Well that's all of America. And while that is a true statement, if he would have said "No, you can't eat here because you're gay," then that is a legal form of discrimination. THAT story would have gotten even louder outrage than the action of handing them a letter. To his credit, the owner tried to address them privately without embarrassing them in public.
It's the lesbian couple who turned this event into a public news story. And good for them!

Actually, I believe sexual orientation isn't a blanket protection when it comes to the areas where the right to refuse service intersects with civil rights. I believe it's a state-to-state issue. I'm certainly not a legal scholar, and I know there are lawyers on this board--can anyone clear that up for me?
True. In NC he would have a right to do that. But they could still open a civil suit, if the lesbian couple wished.
