Is anyone going to see this? I'm kind of on the fence because, while I love Spike Lee, I must say that this doesn't look like the normal Spike Lee Joint. Hopefully, the trailer is lying...

I'll see it for my Clive...

The reviews for this movie are actually very good.

It's 87% fresh on rotten tomatoes.

That's cool. It would be really cool to see Spike have a huge commercial hit since his films lately have been misunderstood and underestimated.

This is the movie with Jodie Foster, right? I've seen TV commercials for this every night for the last week, but until this thread I had no idea this was a Spike Lee film.

Yeah I know...

The only Spike-y things it has are the presence of Denzel Washington and the direct-to-the-camera monologue by Clive Owen.

Lee's "The 25th Hour" was brilliant and overlooked.

Do The Right Thing was brilliant and troubling. His use of color, editing, music to suggest themes and emotions was wonderful.

Inside Man looks to be a very different joint.

I'm about to go see it in an hour. I actually had never heard of the film until about 30 minutes ago when some friends called to invite me (maybe I've been living under a rock?) so I was a bit hesitant, but it's good to hear it's gotten some positive feedback.

Just got back from seeing it. I liked it well enough. It's a very solid, well-made movie with some very good performances and some unexpected (as well as some expected) twists. I loved Foster's character: a real departure for her. And definitely a departure for Lee as well. You don't have to be a real Spike Lee fan to enjoy it, but it's got enough of his stamp on it for those who enjoy his films to like it as well. That said, while enjoyed it while I was watching it, and I'd recommend seeing it, I wouldn't care if I ever saw it a second time. But then again, I’m not a real big fan of bank heist movies. If you are, you should love it!

My friend just called it the best Spike Lee film in years. Perhaps I will check it out.

I saw it and loved it. You've gotta love a THOUGHTFUL bank robber movie.

"We don't value the lily less for not being made of flint and built to last. Life's bounty is in it's flow, later is too late. Where is the song when it's been sung, the dance when it's been danced? It's only we humans who want to own the future too." - Tom Stoppard, Shipwreck

Just heard the pod cast of Ebert and Roeper. Ebert did not like it and gave it thumbs down. Roeper on the other hand did like it so thumbs up from him.

I thought it was pretty good. The "twist" at the end wasn't really much, but it was a solid, well made movie.
