Generation Gap said: "After a thorough study of this thread, the Council of Generational Matters is ready to issue a ruling.

While qolbinau is a terrible reflection of her generation (we'd like to see credentials attesting to her education and level of success), we have still ruled overwhelming in favor of the Millennials.  The Boomers, as they have for decades now, have overwhelmingly proven themselves to be the absolute worst.  Take comfort, Millennials and Generation X, and just know that - despite their denial - the Boomers will not live forever. It just seems that way.

This ruling is final.

"

Um, the idea that you would create an account to post this is incredibly bizarre. Terrible reflection? Please. There is nothing terrible about working hard, doing well and avoiding inter-generational stereotypes/actually getting on with and respecting people from different generations - making judgements based on individual characteristics rather than age. Of course, I acknowledge I come across as potentially unnecessarily arrogant - of which is mostly trolling. The slight bit of truth is because sometimes it can be incredibly annoying to see the 'ageism/generationalism' on this forum. Most recently, for example, in the Bernie Sanders vs Hillary Clinton thread - where many posters seemed unwilling to actually listen and engage in a discussion about the issues at hand and focus on unrelated personal qualities of the posters.

Also, I am a man.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

MikeInTheDistrict said: "Is the Millennial-bashing really necessary? I'm solidly Gen-X, but it makes me cringe every time I see these sorts of generalizations about an entire generation of people. Twenty years ago, people were saying the same thing about my generation, which was IMO lazier and more inane than anything I've seen of Millennials."

Oh, you had me until the end. :) I'm Generation X too, and am really irritated by all the ridiculous millennial-bashing. But, for me, that's 90% because I think dividing the human race into "generations" is an absurd notion to begin with. There's no such thing as a "generation"; human reproduction is a continuous, not a discrete, matter.
