We do use that expression.
SM, it's used to express how someone's attractiveness is in direct proportion to the amount of booze consumed.

Heh, I should have assumed that (Occam's Razor), but it just didn't look like him. But then, neither did his original avatar, so... yeah.
I have a major problem with beer goggles as well. It's very unfortunate.
