Going to see Sweeney Todd. Can't wait
Matty, start it whenever you want, but I'm pretty sure we'll be done with this one within the hour, so if you can stick around to start it when this one ends, why don't you do that?
I have tickets to a 10:00 SWEENEY screening tonight, but I might sneak out of work and catch an earlier one too. Wouldn't be the first time I saw a movie twice on the opening day.
I'll start the thread when this one ends. :)
Trying to figure out when I'll be seeing Sweeney. Friends want to go tomorrow night. I refuse to go to any theatre that's in a mall.

Everyone ready for a break?
I know I am. I decided to be so responsible and actually come into school today. I am such an idiot that way. Biiiiig f*cking mistake.
I think I've actually got my musical-theater-hating father excited about Sweeney Todd. Maybe he'll come with us tonight. There's a like 9:40 showing...we'll probably go then.

Musical Theatre Hating. Don't know those words in that sequence. :)
SWEENEY in a mall - there is something so wrong about that that I'd almost want to see it there anyway just for the experience.
I have apparently been dragged into all this Sweeney-mania, and will be seeing it at 7 tonight. Oy.
matty, make sure to mention 14 somewhere in your title.
I'm not terribly excited. Honestly I'd rather be seeing Charlie Wilson's War. I'm much more excited for that.
Don't worry Tazzy!
*gasps*
It's interesting to me that in all of the hype for the film, and all of the interviews, etc, I've yet to see any interviews with Lansbury, Cariou, Hearn, Garber, et al. Am I missing them? I'd love to hear Lansbury's perspective on the film.
I am leaving right now to go see Sweeney! **SQUEEEEEEEE**
I hate to say this but Tim Burton has gotten rendundant.
I loved By the Sea, that was inspired, but generally -- there was very little that he hadn't done before...in some cases twice. That said, it was not terrible.
Morning all. Not sure when I am gonna end up seeing Sweeney. I may end up seeing it alone. Maybe my brother will want to, who knows.
I NEED to start work on designing the sets, costumes and props for a show that goes opens Jan. 19th. I keep procrastinating.

Never could stand Burton. I dunno if he's made a single film that I didn't find overdone and ludicrous. If that's what you think is brilliant, fine by me, but I just can't get into it. Maybe that's part of the reason I'm not enthusiastic about this film. That and Depp...ew.
*gasp!*
Deet - I read an interview. They said Burton's Sweeney is puerile and under-dramatized. It lacks any sense of structure, character, or the Aristotelian unities.
Yeah, I'm not particularly excited about it, either, but my best friend got tickets and told me I'd better not have plans. Whatever, it's free. *shrug*
Now, I *will* be getting excited for The Other Boleyn Girl...I just finished the book last night, and I am practically dripping to see the movie.
hello luvs! popping back in to say Happy Holidays! I miss you all but life just isn't slowing down enough for me to jump back in regularly. Maybe after the new year. Anyway, I miss you all and I'll be back soon.
I'm excited for The other Boleyn Girl too, Jaily. Should be plenty interesting, at least.
Thank you, Matty. Link, please?
*grumbles something about Matty being a smartass*
I'm afraid to get too excited. Wtf, is with that scene in the previews of them strolling in the sun? It looks like a scene from the beginning of Titanic.
