You know that you've always stolen a piece of my heart, SM2. It's been that way since our chase in 'the most off-topic...' thread.

Those were the days...
*sigh*

Did you see anything Actr?

Indeed, those were the days!
HEY ACTR!!! *hugs*
And you didn't call me, ACTR?!?! I mean!!
:-P
Jaily, I didn't know you were still... in the profession.

It's not a profession for our Jaily, it's just a way of life.
**hugs**
Sorry Jaily. I thought I read a few pages back that you've been sick?
Did I see anything? What DIDN'T I see?! 110 In the Shade, Curtains, Legally Blonde, Inherit the Wind, and Love Musik.
Plus I think I met just about every one of my idols.
It was a damn good week.

I want to see Curtains most out of those 5. How good is it? As good as they say?
It was a thoroughly fun show linnie. It's not Kander and Ebb's best by a long shot, but it's really a blast of an old fashioned musical mystery. Karen Ziemba is fabulous! She ought to start dusting off a place on the shelf for another Tony. I went backstage and met her in her dressing room... I think I almost passed out. lol
Jaily, you get "called" for free? (¡Puta barata!)
Actr, how was meeting Audra? Elaborate.
Oh God SM! Greatest moment of my life! She came out and looked absolutely radiant as always. I had her sign my 110 poster and I told her how beautiful her performance was. I asked her if she had gotten my letter, to which she replied that she hadn't because she has been inundated with sympathy cards. I felt like such an insensitive prick. (stupid Actr, stupid Actr!) She said not to worry, because she would be responding soon. I told her that no response was required, because I just wrote to tell her how much I appreciate her work. Then she grabbed my hand and said, "Well, I like to respond." **sigh**
I'll post the picture as soon as I upload it to the computer. I feel a new avatar coming.
I met Angela Lansbury too. That just might have been the most thrilling experience ever.

*Starstruck*
I'm thrilled for you, Actr! Thanks for the vicarious experience (as pathetic as that sounds).
Why sympathy cards? I'm generally in the dark about most things Broadway.
Will you deface your new avatar, as well? :)
BTW: I loved Audra in HAVING OUR SAY: THE DELANY SISTERS' FIRST 100 YEARS. The train stop scene gave me chills. She was also excellent in ANGELS IN AMERICA, and I thought she made an exceptional Clara (PASSION). Haven't seen her in much else.
I am SO starstruck.
It's just... I admire these people so much, because they are living the life I want to live someday.
Any time SM. I'll probably give the new avatar the respect and love it deserves. Then I'll probably make a new summer Audra.
Her father was an amatuer pilot and died in a plane crash during previews.
Where and when was she in Angels in America? She would have been amazing in that.

Off for a bit, be back soon. I hope.
Sounds like you had a great trip!
That's terrible about her father. I had no idea.
Uh, never mind. It was WIT she was in. Both were on HBO and the hospital scenes confuddled me. *sheepish grin*
I was thinking that would have been some very interesting non-traditional casting.
Hey ACTR!!
It's weird, i just found out yesterday that he died where I live. She's amazing, but of course, you all knew that.

Rav, why were you in such a parent hating mood yesterday?
Actr - was Ms. Lansbury as luminescent in real life as she appears on stage?
SM2 - I think, ideas and song like Shame on You and other politically driven themes disturb me most because they reflect the opposite values of those I hold dear. Indeed, I don't ever wish to shame someone into feeling compassion for human in dire situations regardless of nationality, gender or sexual orientation. Shame implies guilt and the bottom line is that everyone has a rationale for their perception-- by not respecting and listening-- and even worse implying they should feel ashamed or guilty for them is quite counter productive and will never get to the heart of the matter.
My passion is of course border issues but it applies to most any issue. In numerous interviews with activists on both sides of the immigration organizations I have noticed that the stated anti-immigrant position [that is what they say to press and such] is driven by the notion of shame; shame that they might be perceived as xenophobes or vigilantes which they are arguably-- though there have been no reports of using a weapon to this point-- the fact they they carry they implies the potential use of violence-- that drives the Minutemen out to the desert. This issue is huge and complex -- it frightens me how utterly black and white and therefore distorted it is "reported" by the media.
**climbs off my soapboax**
D2- Thank you, but I assure you my life is less than interesting-- in fact, most of the time is it downright dull.
