I knew Spanish pretty well after high school. Then I minored in Italian studies as an undergrad. Years after studying both, if I try to speak Italian or Spanish, I come up with a bizarre hybrid language combining the two.

I studied Spanish for 9 years, and am amazed at how much I've lost after being 2 years out of the classroom.
