Woo. I can hardly wait.
Can you sense my enthusiasm?
I tried going back to bed, but my head and throat hurt too much. And we're doing "Ever After" tonight at rehearsal and I can't miss it because we only have a month left. Someone help me!

PS: Did anyone notice how weird Patti LuPone's character shoes look in one of the pictures in the article on the main page? They look too high to be allowed.
NARRATOR
And it came to pass, all that seemed wrong
was now right, and those who deserved to
were certain to live a long and happy life.
Ever after...
COMPANY
Ever after!
NARRATOR
Journey over, all is mended,
And it's not just for today,
But tomorrow, and extended
Ever after!
COMPANY
Ever after!
NARRATOR
All the curses have been ended,
The reverses wiped away.
All is tenderness and laughter
For forever after!
COMPANY
Happy now and happy hence
And happy ever after!
NARRATOR
There were dangers-
COMPANY
We were frightened-
NARRATOR
And confusions-
COMPANY
But we hid it-
NARRATOR
And the paths would often swerve.
COMPANY
We did not.
NARRATOR
There were constant-
COMPANY
It's amazing-
NARRATOR
Disillusions-
COMPANY
That we did it.
NARRATOR
But they never lost they're nerve.
COMPANY
Not a lot.
NARRATOR AND COMPANY
And they/we reached the right conclusions
And they/we got what they/we deserved!
ALL
Not a sigh and not a sorrow,
Tenderness and laughter.
Joy today and bliss tomorrow,
And forever after!
FLORINDA
I was greedy.
LUCINDA
I was vain.
FLORINDA
I was haughty.
LUCINDA
I was smug.
BOTH
We were happy.
LUCINDA
It was fun.
FLORINDA
But we were blind.
BOTH
Then we went into the woods
To get our wish,
And now we're really blind.
WITCH
I was perfect.
I had everything but beauty.
I had power,
And a daughter like a flower,
In a tower.
Then I went into the woods
To get my wish,
And now I'm ordinary.
Lost my power and my flower.
FLORINDA AND LUCINDA
We're unworthy.
FLORINDA, LUCINDA, WITCH
We're/I'm unhappy now, unhappy hence,
As well as ever after.
Had we used our common sense,
Been worthy of our discontents,
We'd be happy.
ALL
To be happy, and forever,
You must see your wish come true.
Don't be careful, don't be clever.
When you see your wish, pursue.
It's a dangerous endeavor,
But the only thing to do-
Though it's fearful,
Though it's deep, though it's dark,
And though you may lose your path,
Though you may encounter wolves,
You mustn't stop,
You mustn't swerve,
You mustn't ponder,
You have to act!
When you know your wish,
If you want your wish,
You can have your wish,-
No, to get your wish
You go into the woods,
Where nothing's clear,
Where witches, ghosts
And wolves appear.
Into the woods
And through the fear,
You have to take the journey.
Into the woods
And down the dell,
In vain, perhaps,
But who can tell?
Into the woods to lift the spell,
Into the woods to lose the longing,
Into the woods to have the child,
To wed the Prince,
To get the money,
to save the house,
To kill the Wolf,
To find the father,
To conquer the kingdom,
To have, to wed,
To get, to save,
To kill, to keep,
To go to the festival!
Into the woods,
Into the woods,
Into the woods,
Then out of the woods
And happy ever after!

Well, I have the lyrics, doll. I have to be at rehearsal to learn the music with everybody else!
Thanks, though.
I need a Popsicle.

Oh, Deety, that song is never going to leave my head.

Yeah, I noticed that too! They look bulky, but I think it's just how she's standing!
So how is the show going on without a Jack?
Ok, not I really have to go...

Our original Jack, who is grounded, is learning everything on his own, or with us during study hall at school. When he gets off of groundation in two weeks, he'll come back.
We still need a Wolf, though. I said I'd do it, and the director just looked at me funny and walked away.
Sorry, Maury. How's this instead:
Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses
Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendor
Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender
Turn your face away, from the garish light of day
Turn your thoughts away from cold, unfeeling light
And listen to the music of the night
Close your eyes,
And surrender to your darkest dreams
Purge your thoughts of the life you knew before
Close your eyes, let you spirit start to soar
And you'll live, as you've never lived before
Softly, deftly, music shall caress you
Hear it, feel it, secretly posses you
[Music Of The Night lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]
Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind
In this darkness that you know you cannot fight
The darkness of the music of the night
Let your mind start a journey through a strange, new world
Leave all thoughts of the life you knew before
Let your soul take you where you long to be
Only then can you belong to me
Floating, falling, sweet intoxication
Touch me, trust me, savour each sensation
Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in
To the power of the music that I write
The power of the music of the night
You alone can make my song take flight
Help me make the music of the night

I'm suddenly very glad I never bothered to learn POTO.
For DGG:
Yeah, Maury - Ever After isn't such a bad song to have in your head after all, is it?

Thanks, Deet. I'm eating a grape one right now. Yum!

I suppose. Given the alternative. :oP
I think I am getting sick too. Either that, or my allergies are starting up again.
Sondheim always trumps Lloyd Webber.
