Posts got eaten!
Even I have a little bit of a man-crush on the Johnathans. They were all so genuinely nice when I met them and stayed over an hour after the show finished to talk to their fans, and give each one as long as they needed. That whole cast is really great that way.
I just came back from movie night with my friends and they picked Fight Club...which makes either the 34th or 35th time I've seen it. Man do I love that movie. So quotable...and the three main performances (and Meatloaf) are amazingly under-rated. I really hope Trent Reznor finishes his musical adaptation of it, I can totally see it onstage...I have the set all worked out in my head.

Taz, go bore someone else with your details.
(I am so kidding, Taz! I know the vernacular, but when have I ever been so technical? He's being paid to play a gay guy. Enough said.)
Sweet Hotties.
Gideon Glick actually isn't in the show anymore. He's a freshman at NYU (and, to be quite honest, will never do better in real life than he did onstage with Jonny B. Wright).
Is it really a good show? I've got the recording and it sounds good, but I don't know if I'd like it on stage.
Groff and Gallagher in particular were some of the nicest people I ever met, and talked to me for a long time, with mostly them perpetuating the conversation and asking em things. Gallagher is gonna get swooped up by Hollywood and become a household name, and Groff will conquer Broadway.

lol scott.
austin, I only mention it to you b/c you're a writer and I wouldn't want you to mis-use the phrase. That's meant in all sincerity even though it may sound didactic.
Blake Daniel is Ernst now in SA. He's gay too.
Gideon is in SPEECH & DEBATE now, and he kicks ass. Scott, you need to see SPEECH & DEBATE.
I agree that Groff and Gallagher are both extremely friendly and down to earth.
Gallagher reminds me of Daniel V from Project Runway.
he looks like Adam Samberg from SNL.
I have an idea: Why don't you break the SPRING AWAKENING CD case and each take a turn grinding the shards into my arm.
I'm down.

you don't like SA SM?
I love the music. Can't wait to see it in 2 weeks!
You don't like SA, SM?
...Taz beat me to it.
Never seen it. Nor do I have future plans to.
I thought the music was good, but I don't like a lot of the lyrics.
Am I really supposed to believe they had a stereo? Seriously? Seriously?
The show is SO much better live. The cast recording does it absolutely no justice.
SM2:
So why the harsh judgments about something you have never seen, eh?
Seeing Spring Awakening for the first time was much needed jolt I needed that reinvigorated my passion for musicals and made me remember why I bust my balls and my bank account doing what I do. I was front row, actors practically spitting on me (Seriously Groff has a spitting problem [insert inappropriate joke here...but its true]) and I just got so wrapped up in the experience I was pretty much brought to tears when all the blue light bulbs descended from the flies, just the simple beauty of the storytelling.
Oh man...talking about this makes me miss New York so much. Ironically working in the theatre means that I have no money to actually see any.
Akiva
I wasn't judging the show.
Its true though that the cast album is fairly shoddily produced. The left-right pans are way too extreme, and the cast NEVER ends a phrase in synchronization. But something about those rough edges makes it raw and appealing to me.
Akiva
I have always felt like it was well produced, but that's a common cpmplaint I hear.
I didn't really notice these things until I listened to it with earphones and now I can't NOT notice them.

There's just not enough range in the dynamics for me. All the fire in "Mama Who Bore Me (Reprise)" and "Totally F*CKed" is just... not there.
