I'm not really such a fan of Footlose. I don't know it at all. I can't judge. And my love of Pirate Queen is really just stemed from my love of Stephanie J. Block. The production was amazing. But the show was pretty much Les Mis at sea. But they've cleaned things up. I have high hopes. I have nothing to say about the Jekyll and Hyde thing though. It's a guilty pleasure.

I really want to see Pans Labyrinth.

And I sincerely hope this thread becomes more active tonight, for the sake of my own sanity. I can sense that the next few hours are going to be pain-stakingly full of boredom and I'm going to need moral support from as many people as I can get it from.

I'm actually uncharacteristically excited for We Will Rock You here. The theatre is directly beside my school, so I can try for lottery whenever I want (It does have lottery right?).

I am off to pull an all-nighter for a show that loads in on Sunday. Oh the life of a Set Designer...

Akiva, I'm sure you were just generalizing but what school is near the Canon? I'm trying to think of the area, or the relative area at least, but I don't know Toronto very well. I'm pretty positive there's no schools (or campuses) within one block of the theatre...

Also, I'm not sure if there will be a lottery. But perhaps I'll see you one time throughout it's (hopefully lasting) run here in T-dot. 4 days until Opening Preview!

Caroline, please post a review for it! I wanted to see it since it was nominated at the Golden Globes. Nothing but good things heard about it, but there are no theaters around here playing it unfortunately re: Is That You In Your Avatar? Part 3!

Ryerson! I think I knew that actually, a friend of mine lives in that campus if I'm not mistaken.

just got back. a tremendous film. I loved it. I think, after seeing it, It is a better film than Pans Labyrinth, which is odd because the individual elements of Pans Labyrinth SHOULD add up to a better film. But, as fantastic as Pans was/is (and it is a magnificant film), The Lives of Others manages to be heart breaking, depressing, and draining- but at the same time- it is one of the most hopeful movies I have ever seen. The unemphazised goodness of everyone, even the most awful of awfuls, is really what sets this film apart from others like it. The characters aren't black and white bad guy / good guy with a defector thhrown in for good measure. These are HUMANS. humans who change, evolve and feel. Humans who are moved and humans who breathe and live.

It is an immense film on a small scale. brilliant, haunting and also excellent cinematically.

One of the best films I've seen all year.
