Deet--It's going okay. Something happened that REALLY pissed me off and almost made me quit, but I'm sticking to it. I have a 3 hour rehearsal tonight with just me and the guy playing Harold. Everyone sounds really good and I am completely impressed with how much talent we have in my little town.

Oh, I thought I already mentioned it here. Maybe not! Ok, here we go:

**clears throat**

Last Thursday, I had a music rehearsal by myself to go over "Shipoopi" and the end of "Sadder but Wiser Girl For Me" and any other spot that I had problems/questions about. During my rehearsal the guy who plays Harold walks in and asks if he could practice as well since he was gone everyday of the previous week. Everyone was like, "sure!" (and may I add that he is going to be gone most of the summer as well). Anyway, when we got to the end of "Sadder but Wiser Girl" the guy who plays Harold says the thing that pissed me off. He said, and I quote:

"I talked to Cristopher (the director) about this and he wanted me to let you (the music director) know. Since I am a music minister, I don't feel comfortable saying some of these lines like 'I hope. I pray for Hester to win just one more A' because it is saying that he wants her to commit adultery again. There are also some other lines in musical that I don't feel comfortable saying, so the Cristopher said that I could change it."


WHAT THE F*CK? They are letting him change lyrics to one of the classics musicals because he doesn't feel comfortable saying it? Well, the bastard shouldn't have auditioned for it because he has admitted that he owns the movie version, which has that line in it. I was so mad that I almost walked out.

He shouldn't have accepted the part. What does he think the rest of the song is about? Or the role itself? Hill talks about his past to Marion.

Without permission from the licensing agent, that kind of change is illegal, although I know everybody does it all the time. But still!

Shipoopi is all about a--- s--, didn't you know that Chico? There was a whole thread about that a while back. I'm too lazy to search for it, though. This heat is killing me, I can barely type with my usual speed. It's so hot I might as well be in Florida, one of the greatest states in the Union and one that I love dearly!
